The original Monster Hunter Stories game for Nintendo 3DS is being enahnced for Nintendo Switch! Become a Monster Rider and hatch, raise, and battle with your favorite monsties once more in this epic RPG adventure.
Monster Hunter Stories launches on Nintendo Switch in Summer 2024 with refined graphics, a new museum mode, and content previously released only in Japan.

It’s a shame that the original only sold a couple hundred thousand. But the sequel sold almost 2 million, and this remaster will be on even more platforms. If this sells decent, it almost guarantees a third game.

I hope they include ALL dlc from the Japanese version like Kumamon. I'm glad they allow Monstie types to change aesthetics with element type from the rite of channeling as in the original and unlike MHS2 and that the player can posess elder beasts like the Japanese version. I hope they don't make things like Glavenus egg parts reliant upon Nintendo Online interactions or whatever though. I loved the music in the game, especially from Hakum Village, and I thought the poogie costumes were hilarious! Also, given people's love of Palworld, I think an open world version of the Monster Hunter Stories franchise could easily make something similar if not much better with more recognizable monsters and weapons. I hope this remaster does well so that a Zelda BOTW/TOTK version of the MHS franchise is made

As an owner of Nintendo 3DS (Nintendo's greatest handheld console before Switch) and Monster Hunter Stories (1 of my favourite 3DS game and I like Monster Hunter Stories more than main Monster Hunter games because I like it's like Monster Hunter version of Pokémon), I have Monster Hunter Stories 2 for Nintendo Switch, it's a good sequel but in my opinion this is still better. It's so awesome Monster Hunter Stories is coming to Ps4, Nintendo Switch and Pc, i'm so glad for those people who dosen't have 3DS and Monster Hunter Stories, now they can enjoy the game too and I love it! 🐉🔥

I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am for this!! I still play this on my 3DS and my android tablet because it’s just SO SO GOOD! one of am time favorite spinoffs- MHS stands on its own for me. I always loved Monster Hunter but as I got older I had less time to invest in gaming and MH is incredibly demanding- it’s a commitment. For me, Stories has always been a perfect sweet spot. I love monster catching games and I love to be able to breed for the best stats etc. Right before this was released my 3DS stopped being able to run any extended memory games, this being one of them, even my MHS cartridge wouldn’t play. Although I have it on my Samsung tablet I still went spent over $300 on a ‘New’ 3DS XL so I can play this and all my extended memory games. I’d do it again. I replay it about once a year or so. One of the top best 5 games for 3DS and the MH Stories series is in my top of all time games. I got Rune Factory 3and 4, they’re coming out with a new Fantasy Life and this?!?! If they remake Ever Oasis it’ll be all of my absolute favorite 3DS games remade for switch. I’m sooooo hype rn!

Honestly this is the best thing the franchise has ever made, ever since it first came on 3DS, I actually prefer and love the idea of befriending and riding monsters rather than fighting them, it gives the monsters to shine in a more positive note as them being the heroes rather than the antagonistic evil creatures that u need to kill on sight. something like httyd vibes in a sorta way in my opinion. I really hope that they make a third sequel that’s bigger and expansive than ever with a lot more unique Monsties (excluding subspecies that I have no beef with them but concerned they take space I. Roster for more unique species)

Don’t get me wrong i am in love with this series and i love the first MHS game i spent hours playing on my 3ds but i was hoping that they would work on a MHS3 instead of a remaster i wanted to see if they would put some of the new monsters from MHR in MHS like Lunagaron or magnamalo while also bringing back the color change from MHS1 🤩 hoping at some point they come up with another story to release a 3rd game

It's completely separated from the first game, apart from Navirou's mention of the black blight when you meet him. Other than that, these two games are completely separate stories. P.S. Avinia and Cheval do make a return in stories 2.

I played 2 first, I was never particularly lost in the story, I'd say it does a good enough job being a standalone game. So yeah, I don't think you'd have too many issues playing 2 before 1

All I know so far is that there's gonna be content that was released to the Japan 3ds version that was never distribute to the other versions. As far as I'm aware of what the content was, it was some elder dragons we were able to get as Monsties aka Ranjang, Kushala Daora, and Teostra.

The one from Japan is updated but the other one isn't? 1: this was one of the most overlooked games on the 3DS i was wishing they remake this after the sequel came out. if you where lucky enough play the 3DS original i cannot recommend enough for you to play this in some way.....also watch the anime as well 2: "now fully voiced" ....now fully voiced with an English option... the 3DS original was voiced in japanese and the monster hunter language 3: when this drops can someone please extract Fifi's model for me? i need it for....uhhhhh.....research purposes......

I played the original game on the 3Ds and it was really fun! If you didn't know about this game, It's actually basically like Pokémon except that Monsters can only be gotten from eggs that you can retrieve from dens filled with Monsters where sometimes there is no Monster and sometimes there are Monsters that you can either attack or avoid inorder to retrieve an egg, eggs must be hatched by tapping them repeatedly, your character fights alongside the Monsters and enemy Monsters can fight at the same time and the types are simplified to attack, technical and speed type with attack type being strong against speed type, speed type being strong against technical and technical being strong against strong type and sometimes attacks can lead to clash where you would have to quickly tap the screen inorder to overpower the other Monster and it's a Monster Hunter game so it's got a whole bunch of quests so there is alot of replayability and there are collabs
