@@ahoukun6044 I mean that really should only depend on the power output of the lightning. Like I think Kirin might be able to match this power, maybe Astalos, but Zinogre might not be able to alongside the fact it usually doesn't occur in deserts. My best guess is regular heat or electricity, maybe like a Glavenus scorch mark would only be hot enough to make surface glassed and burnt sand and not full on glassed mineral structures like this.

Something I’m surprised not many people have mentioned yet is that the way Lala Barina scratches her abodmen to release hairs is definitely inspired by the defense mechanism of some tarantulas! When they’re threatened, they’ll scratch their abodmen and release barbed hairs meant to keep predators at bay, usually aiming them at the eyes and mouth. It’s always so exciting seeing how they incorporate real world animals into fictional beasts and Lala Barina is such a welcome addition! It’s a little too early to say yet but it might dethrone Rakna for me as my top favorite.

The only thing a stinger is, is a modified ovipositor (the tube that female insects use to lay eggs). We see that Lala Barina has a stinger, so the ones we hunt would be female (again: if Capcom doesn't ignore this piece of insect biology (even though Lala Barina is not technically an insect, but a combination of insect(s) and an arachnid)).

Lala Barina's paralyzing florets seem to be based on how tarantulas will flick the "hairs" on their abdomen at threats to spook them and cause skin irritation, thats really cool! and it also ties nicely into the whole "beautiful but dangerous, look but dont touch" rose aesthetic. love being able to see the real world inspiration behind monster designs

Armour designs can be whatever they want in this franchise and that's great. But the default one is meant to supposed to match the kind of overall aesthetic they're going for at the start. Which in this case is an exploration team heading into very unpredictable territory. All the other female characters we've seen so far wear trousers, why can't my female hunter wear them too at the start? You also don't wanna wear a mini-skirt when going riding 😆.

That quote seems to be a slight nod to some lore in the games having a very strict set of laws against poaching. In 4U, you can learn about this group of super fighters specially trained to hunt people who break these laws and execute them so it would make sense that they would need specific permissions to do so and I find it to be an amazing little touch

@@idkwatimdoingtbh It might not be an instant paralysis, like the video makes it look like. I think it might be a gradual build-up like Gore Magala's frenzy virus - so if you take enough hits from it then your fully afflicted. As I feel like it might be a bit much for the hairs to cause instant paralysis with how many of them appear. But then again they do float slowly, so they're probably fairly easy to dodge (except for perhaps that big spin attack). Just need to make sure you don't accidently roll/run into a mine mid-combat (essentially).

However, for them to say it in the human language understandable to the player is way too much. Talking straight up was a thing for older & more experienced palicoes like traders & cooks, not the ones you hunted with. 😭

I hope Blangonga returns in Wilds. His moveset is similar to Rajangs, but he can also dig himself underground to attack from beneath you, he can throw huge snow balls, he can summon minions the Blangos, his breath attack is shorter but wider and deals ice damage.

Blangonga has good Chance to return because of the pack Mechanic and Congalala is pretty much confirmed because of the Armor we saw on the dual blade weapon preview. If Congalala is returning Blangonga has to be back aswell.

Let me warn you, to gun effectivly you will shoot point blank or very close up a lot of times. Mobile monsters rarely let you stand back, and many powerful munitions have short crit distances. Think more doom guy, less sniper.

I appreciate how Wilds hammers home the theme of hunters being wardens of nature. The hunter refuses to slay the apex and Doshaguma pack leader, only doing so when given permission by the guild.

technically this was allways in MH at least in the lore that the Guild will first infesitgate why a Monster causes trouble and only if nothign else helps a hunter comes in and kills/relocates the creature

Yeah. That's the whole idea behind the guild, was to manage the hunters to prevent disrupting the ecosystem from overhunting and/or invasive species. The idea that the guild handler can now make those decisions on the fly is a little at odds with the established lore.

Lala Barina is such a great name, sounds very similar in spanish as "La Bailarina" which means "The Dancer", usually referred to a ballet dancer, makes a lot of sense with the monster's move set as well.
