I think they said they don't want to focus on elders (regarding the story) Altough this doesn't mean they wont be added. But in the last few titles, Elders played a central role in the plot. But would a octopus that uses oil and fire together qualify as an elder? Hard to say, since they tend to be really inconsistent when it comes to what qualifies as an elder and what not. Yama Tsukami is just a giant cephalopod filled with light gas, giving it the ability to float. It's an elder but for some reason Paolumu isn't.

Because Paolumu has the criteria to be qualified as a flying wyvern , but Yama Tsukami being a mysterious flying octopus with no correlation to other groups gets qualified as an elder, for now I think the Black Flame will be considered one too unless a mew category is revealed

There is nothing special about Yama Tsukami that should make it an Elder (aside that it maybe gets really old), aside from the fact that they can put it in no other group. But it is possible that the Black Flame is not an elder and gets a new group, even if Yama and Narkarkos remain classified as elders. Dalamadur is basicly just a giant snake wyvern. But since it's so huge, they classify it as an elder. Ceadeus is also an example. It's basicly just a giant powerful and old Levianthan.

And they’re beautiful. They also seem to be focusing on movement a lot. Besides animations looking really smooth, the way creatures move are just more pronounced and varied. Doshaguma is distinctly stocky as I trundles along. Chatacabras knuckle walking and attacks are heavy. Balahara looks slippery even in the sand. Lala Barina moves like an 8 legged ballerina. It’s all so good.

I honestly don't think there's going to be a "dragon biome". There are four rings in the logo most likely representing the 4 apexes along with the white snake being Arkveld and the black snake being the final boss. The final boss is I think going to be our dragon monster like Nakarkos was. That or the expansion gives us a dragon flagship with a biome to fit.

Its not actually a volcano tbh. The area is called the oilwell basin which is far from the looks of the volcano region. There might still be a chance agnaktor and akantor will be added in the game

I paused it I think it might be a sword and shield? They have a smaller shield on the arm. Unless it's one of those unique small Lance that has a small shield with it for appearances. Because I was first thinking Insect glaive but instead of a bug I noticed a small shield on the arm so yeah.

We're usually brave and powerful, for crying out loud we're going to be shoving our weapons in monster's mouths in this game. But to see the hunter powerlessly panicking is such a contrast, it's horrifying. I can't wait to see more of this monster in-game.
