Been saying it the past two streams, they seem to be releasing news at random. And you know what? Second Beta!! Did not see that coming! To address the fact that this is an old/un-optimized build I've seen someone suggest adding a disclaimer on the title screen. No matter what they do, there will always be people unwilling to read and understand the limitations of the build, but if it's RIGHT there on the screen, then I feel that's enough. If people can't understand that then there's no helping them.

So HYPE for Gypceros, didn't realised it was leaked, so this was a crazy reveal for me. I loved fighting him in previous games, and it's going to be fun to fight him again. Love me some rubber chicken shenanigans. Edit: He was introduced in the first Monster Hunter game, not Freedom Unite. He's an OG sensei like Yian Kut-Ku.

Yes. Definitely clear that this Beta is just the same as before and I don't mind at all. I just wanted to experience it again so I'm excited for another Beta gameplay 😁 And as an old MH player, yeah, I know what Gypceros is capable of, that one specific trait of him that caught me off-guard the first time I experienced it way back MHFU, hehe 😝 I won't spoil it. Others should experience that, hahaha

I would say the surprise coming up maybe that they just throw Rathian/Rathalos in for the weekend as we already know they're in the game and would take less time.... but they showed us Gypceros who we've not seen at all! TBH i'm just happy to be able to play the game again....but i'd love to have Rathian, Rathalos or Nerscylla thrown at us for a few days too

I think people need to be less easy to fool. If you look at the first beta now and wine about the issues, when we know things are changing and we've already seen changes, that's more on you than on the team. I do think, as much as I love how transparent they were for most of this... They should have given us, as part of the beta, info on how old that build was. Like a sentence saying "this beta was extracted from a version of the game from 13 months ago" or give a date. People would have been a lot more forgiving, or got educated/put in their place more by the fans, if they said up front that the beta was over a year old. Now, with more footage of later builds of the game, we know that but we didn't back then. People tuning in for this second beta are in a much better position than we were, the first time. If they don't take advantage of that, by looking at this stuff, that's on them. The team could also, to help avoid this, have put links, on app pages, to those videos. Like, for PS5, press down on the Dpad on the Wilds "app" and it would show those videos with that disclaimer that these are footage of builds newer than the beta. I don't think they need to baby gameers, that much, but it's an option. Oh bonus info: Someone on the official Monster Hunter discord, supposedly official like a mod or something, implied that the other monster/the mystery that isn't gypceros is another returning monster. We'll have to see how true that is, when it's revealed.

As far as Gypceros' pronunciation goes, there's probably nothing oficial, or so little i have never seen it. I'm partial to the hard G version, but that's just personal. This game will actually have voice acting, so there will finally be something concrete.

Man, Wilds would something special if it had a lot of brand new monsters as well as monsters that haven't been seen this the GU or older days. As Watts said, they'd be new to people who started with World and they'd be in a newer game with new moves/tweaked moves + ecology.

I will give it another chance. I didn't like the first beta. No real introduction or tutorial (and I'm quite new to MH with only like 30 hours in World) and super low resolution, textures and framerate. Plus I wasn't a fan of the desert like environment. But hey, maybe things look different. And if not I will just skip it. I'm busy with Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 anyway. 🤫

It's not going to look any better as I tried to explain at the beginning of the video lol this is a beta that they weren't ever going to do but people wanted it so they did. They don't have time to put in all the changes and finishes making the game. Generally a beta isn't going to be the best place for a new player to learn how to play the game because it doesn't have the chaptered story introducing you to mechanics and it doesn't have the training room. You can use the training barrel and beat up chatacabra to try things though but man, getting into monster hunter is one of the best things you can do as a gamer. A full product at launch for a set price, free updates and support then a little later a massive expansion that's larger than most games on their own

I am aware that betas typically come without a tutorial but for Monster Hunter I thought something would be included since it is so complex. I will definitely try out the next beta.
