@@greatikechukwu4032 Believe it or not, the reason why I did not give Gypceros a straight answer is because of Nerscylla His not really a good monster, but because of lore reasons for his in the game, then that would mean Nerscylla might be too, and a lot of people want Nerscylla. Right now, I am doing monsters that are mostly liked , Gypceros is an exception, though. I am doing monsters who I don't believe should be returning soon. By the way, thanks for the kind words . Well technically Congalala wasn’t announced yet. It could also be possible we can trade monster parts to get others. We already had that in previous parts of the series. Don’t get me wrong I think he will be in but he wasn’t announced yet. 😉

@@johannesnagengast7643 while what you say is true about trading monster parts I really highly doubt they will bring that mechanic back. No one really liked it for one and second that was from Gen 4 which is a long time ago. I highly doubt it lol. I am also pretty positive Capcom wants to introduce some old school monsters to the new fanbase that they gotten with World, Rise and now Wilds.

I think the SwAxe monster is a neopteron, as the excess cloth suggests silk which is made by insects. The fabric could also be an thematic indicator of molting, as while all arthropods molt when crustaceans do it the armor left behind is hard and rigid like plates but insect husks when shed tend to be softer and more pliable.

I think the cloth more resembles the skin of a squid-like monster, and that the mandibles are its beak. Either way this roster is shaping to be peak

star ratings could mean so many different things. In most MH games Low Rank goes from 1 to 3 so Rey Dau being part of 3 star quests makes perfect sense. Plus in gameplay demos there are times where we can see the threat levels of the monsters which show Rey Dau as having a 5 star threat level, which if we tie back to games before Rise and World, is the same threat level as something like Rathalos or Tigrex. In addition to this, we see that the threat levels of Alpha Doshaguma and regular ones are different, the Alpha I believe is 3 while the regular ones are 1 or 2. Balahara is also shown to vary from 2 to 3 (I may very well be misremembering but I recall seeing that.

@@Flubbadon Story village quest. Blue stars/story quest never change. Chatacabra was always a 1-star story village monster in every single gamescom livestream demo. Doshaguma and Balahara were both 2-star village quests. Rey Dau has always been a 3-star story village quest as well. The only stars that change are the purple ones, which is their strength level. That's what it is called in Wilds. In the video, I am strictly talking about the story of village star levels, not their actual strength. The point is that all 3 of them seem to take place early in the story and are not really considered super difficult monsters. Yes, the strength does vary, and that's why you see Doshaguma with different purple star levels. Not the blue ones. The stronger the monster, by the way, the more rare materials you will also get in Wilds. Hope this explains it and makes more sense.

@@RathalosWatch yeah that makes sense, though it all checks out perfectly for me, most monsters are available in Low Rank excluding Elder Dragons a lot of the time and a few other monsters that are just put in High Rank for no particular reason

It's already confirmed what they do. The higher the stars the higher the difficulty of the hunt if you see purple stars it's a high difficulty hunt that rewards you with a better chance at rare material drops. This was confirmed by Jono and Joe monster hunters community managers during Rurikhan's latest podcast

The fact that Rey Dau is only a three star suggests at least to me that we shouldn't take the star rating of the demo seriously, either Rey Dau is hilariously weak or it was used to indicate a progression in the demo. Rey Dau looks like it should be at least be four stars, more likely five to be on par with Rathalos with how it is presented. I highly doubt Rey Dau is a mere Barroth, a monster that has consistently been three stars, in difficulty and be the "Apex of the desert/plains".

If you look more closely the difficulty stars aren't the actual monsters lore difficulty. In the dev streams there were multiple doshaguma that had different star ratings, one was 2 and the other 3. It is most likely tied to the new investigation like reward system Basically rey dau is like 90% not a 3 star monster.

I feel like they wouldnt show a new locale yet, but rather show a more in depth view of the scarlet forest and some more monsters that reside there and events that happen there

Rathian is also the original flagship of MH1, do to executive meddling by them saying rathian isn't enough to market the game on, she was later replaced by rathalos. She still remained as part of the marketing in a more subtle way, by being in the logo for the title of the game. If you look closely at that logo, you can see her chin spike that rathalos does not have. Rathian was also the first monster that the team ever designed. Now that the skeleton issue is fixed, I"m very hopeful for seeing lagiacrus and agnaktor again. I can't wait to hunt both of these iconic monsters. I wouldn't trust the demo for rey dau's star level, that's likely just a simplified way of putting it for the demo. For newcomers at the demo, it would be weird to fight a 1 star, a 2 star, then jump to a 5 star monster in the demo. Generally the apex predators are around 5 star. these ranks will also each have plenty of other monsters to fill them that we haven't seen yet. I saw a beak immediately on that hammer too. The switch axe is more likely a bug but I really hope it's a crab, we haven't gotten a new crab since 2006. While it's rare, there are a few ice monsters that aren't in ice maps or that can operate outside them. They may want to extend that short list, who knows? The bow armor does give me bird wyvern vibes, with its theming. I do hope we get a new snake wyvern though. A feathered snake would be awesome. Those are bone duel blades. I hope we actually get congalala's duel blades, they're little maracas. Congalala is one of the best intro monsters, full of personality and he has a cool way of teaching you a lot of mechanics in one fight with how his mushroom breath mechanic works. I don't think they'll turn existing pack monsters into herd monsters, I bet those will be different behavior mechanics that will both exist in the game for different monsters. Some will have pack members that are a lot smaller while others have a herd where members are closer in size. New insect, yay, I didn't see those yet. I would love a large monster version. More skeletons need drome like monsters and more dromes need unique AI. I hope the flagship isn't an elder again but I'll take it, so long as it doesn't have any version of the nergigante mechanic again. My hope for a long time was a nake wyvenr flagship to fully showcase how that skeleton works now. Well, I guess they admitted that already with balahara, I still really want a snake and think that would make an awesome flagship.

I think the switch axe armor is a Carapaceon based off the fact that black pearls are confirmed to be in the game, which have historically been materials exclusive to Carapaceons. Also I think the bow armor is from either the small raptors or the large monster equivalent to them as raptors never have their own weapons

The dual blades are indeed bone dual blades. They probably used these since Conga blades are marakas, which aren't great for a showcase. Plus, it may reference the 4U cinematic which features a dual blades user with Conga armour and bone blades.

I feel like it’s not exactly accurate to judge the monsters in the demo. As the stars and rank they were shown, they did confirm many elements of the demo would translate over to the game, but certain things were tweaked and changed specifically for the demo like the weather being sped up, and the game running at 30 FPS was actually intentional! I feel like the monsters current star rankings is in accurate and will be different in the full game

The game is running at 30FPS is most likely because the PS5 cannot handle 60FPS. Pretty positive or at least hopeful it will run at 60FPS on the PS5 Pro if you are willing to spend $700. As for the demo, while you may have a point, but I was I specifically talking about where and when the monsters were fought. It's clear as day that both Doshaguma and Chatacabra and Balahara are early game monsters. I mean, the same thing was happening with World. They always show early game stuff that you'll be encountering within the first hour or two.

I think the hammer is probably some kind of either leviathan OR more excitingly actually potentially a new subclass of monster all together. Specifically a new Cephalopod classification of monster to utilise the grossly under used Nakarkos and or Yama Tsukami skeletons for the future by finally giving us a regular monster that uses that sort of visual octopus/squid or jellyfish body plan. Without necessarily having the monster be an Elder Dragon. They already kinda did that in Rise with the little squids that gave your hunter buffs for being in their path of movement. Now they just have to scale that up to appropriate monster sizes. As for the Switch Axe I think there's actually a much higher likelyhood that the monster attached to it is a snake wyvern. Not a carapaceon/neoptaron just because we've actually never had the armor for either of those two types of monster visually have such a blatant amount of hide attached to them. It's all pretty dense and has heavy amounts of Chitin. Because... well they have hard outer shells. Not so much that leathery reptilian hide we see on the switch axe. But that smoother type of texture makes way more sense on either a leviathan or again a snake wyvern. To be fair this could also be a radobaan style monster where it's a cousin to an original species we already know. But in this case for Mizutsune as the armor HEAVILY resembles Mizutsune's armor whole design motif. But still clearly very different. Now lastly that bow design, is very likely hinting at a new bird wyvern all of its design motifs line up perfectly with bird wyvern armor sets. They typically go for that sort of rogue/ archer look. The fact that they have clear feathering shown on the armor as well just kinda cements that even more for me.

I love the video and it does a really good job of showing all the monsters but i do want to disagree on the switch axe monster. I think its gonna be a carapaceon because if you look at the pincers really close, you see that one is smaller than the other. like a crab claw. So i think it's gonna be an ice themed crab. Also i dont think the hammer is 100% a bird wyvern just because the beak is in fact made of metal and just a design choice. also the plague doctor mask is also a scuba mask hinting at something with water. other than that great video and im all in on you with the snake wyvern!

As I said in the video, it's a bit hard to tell with the switch axe, but that's the beauty of it. Everyone has different theories about it, and that is what makes this exciting. Waiting and anticipating to see what the end product is and the speculation and anticipation is all the fun in between. My goal with these videos is to make the wait more bearable for Monster Hunter Wilds, more fun, and exciting for the community, and I believe it is working. I can't wait too for the day it is revealed, so you and I can look back on this and either laugh about it.

@RathalosWatch it really is fun seeing everyone's predictions and theories for all the new monsters and i just wanted to tell you some of my predictions! i also have some cool things that you may not know! in one of the streams showing Wilds when they eat food one buff is for hot and cold effects. pretty much 100% guaranteeing an ice and fire/volcano map! another thing is if you go on to the official website and go to the environment section you can read a section that says how every locale will have its own apex monster. pretty cool!

My wild Wilds speculation is that this game will feature 5 primary locales with 5 monsters on the same relative threat scale of Rey Dau, and one of these is likely to be the flagship. This is based on the logo’s design motif, which features five prominent yet interconnected circles, which seem to originate from (or are connected to) a leviathan type monster. I think the Final Boss/logo monster is likely to be a leviathan type elder dragon, similar to Amatsu, Narwa, and Ibushi. They have been marketing Rey Dau heavily to showcase many of the unique environmental mechanics in Wilds while also giving the players an idea of his relative power with respect to the other new monsters. Given how early it is in the marketing cycle, I have a feeling we will get to see all the apex monsters and will learn a lot about them, but I hope they do not include too many of them in the demo. I hope the playable demo is basically the same as what people have been getting at GamesCom (albeit with a more stable build). This game is going to be MASSIVE and I hope Capcom recognizes the value of exploration and discovery. I felt this was a bit lost with Sunbreak, although I still enjoyed the game immensely.

@@xander0901 Yeah, a lot of people are speculating that it will have 5 locales because of the 5 circles on the logo. I am not 100% sure if it's a confirmation, though. More than a theory than anything. I do believe, though having 5 locales in the base game would be good. And yes, there is an apex predator in every locale, so that is true. Either way, this game will be huge, as you said. Also, I wouldn't say we are early in the marketing cycle anymore. I'd say about almost halfway. The game is slayed for the Q1 2025 release. TGS is about to happen with a State of Play, so they are about to unload more info and reveal. I hope the end boss is not anything similar to those 3 monsters you mentioned. I despised them, lol.

@@RathalosWatchI personally LOVED Allmother Narwa and Amatsu for the spectacle of the fights themselves, although I would say both represented the culmination of Rise/Sunbreak combat. Given that Wilds combat is more about grounded flow and not aerial mobility, I think the Final Boss will most likely be a snake type. There has been speculation that Wilds will draw inspiration from African landscapes (which appears to be the case so far), and snakes play a key role in African mythology as symbols of the circle of life and rebirth. I think having a giant snake as the final boss perfectly fits the lore and is well supported by the technical display of leviathan skeletons in this engine. We’ll see very shortly, since I guess Q1 2025 is not that far away when you consider that Japanese companies basically pause their marketing campaigns over the Christmas/New Years period. September/October may be the last time we hear new information about Wilds until 2025.

A theory I’m inclined to believe regarding the Snake Wyvern X set is that it’s actually for Talioth. That would explain the feathers, given their status as a Bird Wyvern, as well as the lack of a dedicated Bow as Small Monsters typically don’t get their own weapon trees. However, I do think we will be getting a Snake Wyvern in the form of the White Wraith. That claim, I admittedly don’t have evidence for. I just think it’d fit.

@@RathalosWatch I admit I’m just going off of memory here but I do believe I have seen an in-game image of a Talioth’s hide being iridescent, which would explain the colors. As for feathers, they have none (at least not any easily visible ones) but as I said, them being Bird Wyverns does give a possible correlation. Not the most substantial evidence, I know, but I think it’s far more likely than them relegating the highly-anticipated return of a neglected monster class to just being a Small Monster.

I will be honest i don't see the hammer monster being a bird wyvern due to the only evidence in its favor is the helmet shape for the male armor and shape of hammer tip along with the armor has zero feather decoration and seems to imply that that the monster has a rubbery skin which makes me think it is a amphibian or perhaps some class that is entirely new like some sort of cephalopod that can live on land.

@@big_watson04 ehh I'd prefer not. They are usually quite terrible. Zorah Magdaros was the most boring piece of shit quest I've ever encounter in any MH game. MHFU's Shao Goaren was somewhat manageable and ok. Lao Shun Lung was also boring as shit but better than Zorah.

@@RathalosWatch Fair point, I do however think they have way more flexibility with the size of monsters now with the size of the maps and their experience since the start of the 5th gen. I think they could make a huge cinematic encounter to just blow us away and is very fun. This game just oozes with “Calm Before the Storm” type of feeling.

the stars that we saw in the livestream are the same mecanic we have in monster hunter NOW. with more stars the monster gets stronger. its not tide to the village quest / hubquest granks of stars. but i can see that it can be hard to know because not everyone has touched MHNow

@@zerro7473 you are confusing purple stars with the blue stars, my dude. I was specifically talking about the blue stars. Those signify the village quest ranking. I did not say a word about the purple stars in the video. I know that monsters can have varied strength levels via the purple stars.

@@zerro7473 no. I was speaking about blue stars, which are story village rankings. Those never change. Only the purple ones change. The more purple stars a momster has, the stronger they are, and you can get more rarer materials that way. Capcom confirmed this at Gamescom. Kind of my fault, I should have clarified which stars I was talking about.

I think the switch axe weapon is from a temnoceron but with a catch. I think it’s a scorpion. The “mandible” parts for the axe could be claws and the tip for the sword looks like a retracted stinger.

In some of the footage from Gamescom there are tiny insect like creatures which look like a mix between a mosquito and a beetle and have skin flaps on their abdomens, I'm pretty sure they could be the small Neopteron version of the Switch Ax although I really hope it's some kind of ice mantis or stick bug

the hammer monster is 100% an octopus or some sort of squid. the bioluminecent spots and the beak, alongside the bright yellow eyes and the smooth armor leather is very telling. maybe a new monster type, perhaps?

So. I think I said this in one of your older videos, too. Idk if the star ranking is reliable. But. That's the less interesting thing I gotta say, and what I really want to comment is about how 3 star may be stronger than you imagine. They may be equivalent to tiers. The games have always followed them no matter what game. Things like the rapters and early bird wyvenrs are tier 1. Then tier 2 is rathian, anganath, and those kinda guys. Then tier 3 is any apex. And tier for is elder dragon or equivalent. This is all vague but generally how it goes. So I don't think we would be fighting Ray dou any time before seeing all of, if not most of the biomes. Sorry this was worded so horrible. I lack the words to say what I think.

3 stars is babysitter status my guy. I've played MHFU, MH3U, MH4U, MHWI and MHRS. All the 3 star monsters I've ever fought did not pose a big challenge to be honest. There are way too many factors. If you are average player then yeah sure, I can see some people having difficulties. You have to realize I am a much older player from the older games, so to me personally 3 stars is really nothing to worry about. There are people who have problems killing Rathalos who I consider a very easy monster. Was he easy when I first fought him in MHFU when I was a teen? Absolutely not, especially with me using a Greatsword as my first weapon. A weapon which you essentially require to read monsters like a book in order to get max potential out of it. There are far too many factors on what someone may find easy or not. For majority of the casuals and average joes they they will find a 3-star someone challenging. The most recent monster that gave me some issues was Velkana. It took me about 5 quests retries to kill her solo, but it is an G-Rank Elder Dragon and it was my 1st time fighting her with a hammer. But a G-Rank Elder Dragon is far far different from a low rank 3-star monster lol.

@RathalosWatch oh lol. What I mean is that the difficultly rating has changed. That 3 star is the new.... I never looked at the stars when fighting monsters cause I was more interested in the monsters. But you get what I mean now? That wilds is changing the format. Rathos is 3 star in wilds. Legiana would be 3 star. So, on so forth. There is just no way Ray dou is an apex in the area of easy to fight. I won't have it lol. It's hard to speak about this without memory of the star ranking from the other games. But they always jumped around a little. I think I recall gravios getting a massive hit in generations. God, mounting did him dirty. But it was super fun.

The people played I've spoken too played the the beginning of the game and literally told me the cut scenes that they saw and which monsters they fought in what order and I can assure you Capcom won't be changing the cut scenes or the order of the game this late into development which by the way has been 5 years now which was officially confirmed by Capcom. Bookmark this comment and then come back to it when the game launches and let me know how you feel then :)
