The Poogie outfit system via expeditions was something I loved so much. All the cute ways to rescue the Poogie from various inconveniences was not only charming but had so much effort put into them??? Like. The dev team didn’t need to add those animations, but they did. One of my personal greatest 4U achievement is still getting that Great Poogie costume after unlocking all the others. Didn’t even pay attention to how many of the costumes I got or what I was missing it just happened one day and I was ecstatic.

the 3ds is the console that catapulted monster hunter into the juggernaut it is today. 3U, 4U and Generations are some of the most influential games of my life. I'll never forget the hunts, the level 140 velicrodome/rajang guild quests, the broken underwater fights, and the adept style spam. good times.

Best part of the outfits is that they had interactions outside the room. I believe if you took the devilhog to the circular area in single player Dundorma, and place them on the edge of the circle, they'd charge around the edge. Mh games always have so much character put into them.

I’m just glad that I had people to help me grind or in some cases being the reason I could hunt a monster in 3U and 4U. While I did have a time limit, I got to experience some of the older games. There were so many monsters that I wouldn’t have had the drive to hunt if I had not played it already. Seriously, Dalamadur is awesome and I’m so glad that CapCom made a Dire Miralis plushie! Hopefully a remake/remaster for those games comes to modern consoles. (I have also preordered Fatalis, White/Old Fatalis and Alatreon plushies)

I've been playing MH since Freedom 2 But one of my regrets is that I never got to Gog in MH4U, so late last year I started a new save, and out of personal challenge, I wanted to solo my way through the whole game, at least to G3 I achieved my goal of seeing and beating Gog with some cool people right before the servers went down. In retrospect, I wish I had played online more while I could, but at the same time, I feel very satisfied and finally certified as a "vet" after soloing an old style MonHun's G-Rank Now I need to finish the last quests of Caravan and The Master's Test, and I think that will be it for my MH4U experience. One of the best games I've ever played.

Such a quest. That's my fave poogi (Jho has been one of my fave monsters since my first encounter with it randomly in Tri online) and I got it early so I was satisfied. Great use of the cutscene in the end. 4U was a special game (first time I teared up at a monster hunter story when everyone was wishing me luck against the wheel of fate.) and Lord I miss the Caravan. To this day I have never crafted that scale. Even in other games with Shiggy, I keep one scale (I like to believe my hunter is always the same one, just willfully dropping rank each new place they go to experience the journey again) to make it that one giving to me. I'm still mad that we never got that initial town theme for Rise/Sunbreak as a music pack.

I play MH only casually, pokemon Alpha Sapphire was my main grind though. What you just said about Nintendo forcing us to find a way to spend the remaining time with our games… hit home hard. I’ve got 3 personally trained teams of meta and niche competitively bred shiny Pokémon and all 5 maison trophies. 999:59 hours reached on my save file only less than 6 months ago in December. Sad. Ah, this brings back so many memories! I started playing MH with Tri, and let me tell you, I sucked. I knew how to play and kill the monsters, sure, but the armor/weapon abilities and how to equip the best decos and how skills worked? No sir. I only happened to learn and understand these with 4U, and at the time my boyfriend showed how much I was losing by not understanding these mechanics. We played the entire 4U multiplayer campaign together, did talisman hunting and everything. But I still remember my hunt for this specific Poogie drip. You see, I loved the Poogie, and wanted to find the best outfits for my little friend. So I played for hours and days to find the Pickle drip. The most beautiful and powerful of all of them! I finally did it, and my Poogie was so cute. Thats what matters in the end. Next year we are getting Wilds, and me and my now husband are finally playing together after years of not hunting in a party because the games didnt have crossplay. We only had a single console that had MH, you see. And the many versions could not play with one another. Not playing with him made the MH experience so much less fun, but I'm so happy to be able to play with him again. And thanks for this video, that made me think about some of the best memories we have with the series.

4U was my first monster hunter game and even after playing world and gen and rise and a bit of 3 its still my favourite by far. Theres just so much attention to detail and i feel like the Gore magala was the best flagship so far. He is with you since the beginning of the game and when you beat him, he comes back even stronger, and even when you beat the new version of him his legacy lives on in the form of the Apex Seregios and all the frenzy monters. No other flagship has such a rivalry with the player, not even Nergigante.
