Started on MH Unite and played almost every main game since then. After unite got my psp hacked and played mh3rd with an English patch. After some time my fat psp broke. I Had to save up for a new psp slim, primarily for mh3rd. I still remember how i killed 57 silver rathalos to get his plate for armor.

I started with MH1. Each gen is an improvement. Yes, there are side games that do weird stuff like Generations or Rise, but those are side games. It's fine to go a bit weird there. The important thing is, the main entry has consistently been a step up from the previous generation, and that's not something just any series can pull off. Big respect for Capcom for managing that with MH. They can't even do that with Street Fighter (we all know how SFV went lol), so doing it with MH is impressive in itself.

Yea and it allows for more options like having both a blunt weapon and slashing weapon. you could also have a raw damage weapon and a elemental weapon. I will most likely be going in with either great sword and hammer, or hammer and sns.

@@professorpenne9962 as a horn main im kinda fearing that cuz then it'd feel less special but honestly the buffs dont last that long at all generally (unless maestro is really good) so youd be constantly swapping back to horn to queue up the songs and stack em, i think it'll be more annoying than the convenience it brings. The swapping doesnt seem THAT fast either, you gotta mount up and such. Probably speedrunner meta though

Light Bowgun seems like a very reliable pick if you just want to sleep, place Wyvernblast, swap, and then do a wakeup. (In fact 4 player GS/LBG is something I'm gonna be trying with my friends to see if we can one shot a Monster.)

I've recently started a MHW playthrough where I try all the weapons and hunt the same monsters multiple times until I get the armour set or get bored and move on to the next one (eventually I've gone back to get armour I've missed) Never have I appreciated the investigation system so much. And it's such a good way to make the play through stretch out. I'll probably do it again for my first play through of wilds as we'll probably have to wait a year or so for master rank etc.

Water was and is god awful. "Oh but you can orient yourself now so it's fine" but can you swim quickly with your weapon out? Yeah let's just break a fundamental mechanic of the game for a garbage mechanic that's only in half of 3rd gen for a reason. And what about Glaive? Or aerial Duals? Yeah lets just remove fundamental aspects of at least 2 of the 14 weapons because of a terrible mechanic from before they existed. I don't even hate water, I tolerate it, but y'know the worst part? Not being able to gauge distance because there's no floor so now I'm forced to be overly cautious because the game can't properly convey information. It's a gimmick and it's not even a good gimmick at that

Will you get skills for both weapons? or just build for one and have the other be utility, like a LBG with all the statues and maybe some heal/buff ammo too. There's 14 different weapons for all kinds of playstyles. Yet people complain there ain't enough weapons. There's new and old mechanics to all of them, and the focus mods AND weapon swap on top. On top of that all of the weapons are very well balanced, something not many games could do at all.

That's exactly why people want more of this - I learned how to play all 14 weapons and I still gladly learn a new weapon that's also balanced, fun to use, looks fuckin cool and gives new challenges while fighitng 30+ different monsters where you have to modify your style to work aound monster's weaknesses, like the rest of the weapons. @@SapphireCupcake Thing is the more weapons there are the more work goes into every game forward. I believe what makes Monster Hunter into what it is is the interactions you have with monsters. A new weapon in this game needs ALOT more work than a new weapon in most other games would. Just the animations alone. And a new weapon is very hard to balance. The weapons we have now have established over many games, and it seems like the dev team is still not entirely happy with some of them. (See my beloved Hunting Horn and how much it changed since Dos, especially between World and now.)

People will expect a new weapond every time a new mh game is announce as people expect a new eevolution every new pkmn game is announced. Its the pattern.

@@yurijuri29 If you take the example you provided, wouldn't that still apply because they add new Monsters? And Pokemon also indroduces new Mechanics, just like the new Focus mode. Also they usally overhaul weapons AND monsters and give them new moves. A new Weapon is just unlikely. It has never been the focus of what Monster Hunter adds to new games, nor will ever be. This is not Overwatch or any random MMO that needs a new class every season. It's a well established game that changes weapons just enough to feel fun again through every new game while trying to keep their soul. And i value that alot more than just a new weapon every new title.

Something I noticed while watching the compilation, but the weapon attacks have too much high end to their hit sounds? Like I get it for smaller weapons, but I'd personally like more heft to the bigger weapons. Like I get sound design and all that takes a lot and having one sound group for melee attacks makes it easier design-wise, but the explosive shells get to have at least a deeper impact, I would like for the hammer or axe mode for the charge blade to get some of the same love
