I reccomend switching AWAY from Defender/Guardian Gear, I am NOT gatekeeping, Use it if you really want but theres some consequences IF YOU DO Those Consequences being The main/base game being feeling Rushed and Too easy Lack of Base game progression Larger Skill gap in IB DLC when you reach it unprepared for difficulty spike in IB DLC Ruin your general casual experience/playthrough among other things probs, idk those are just what IK from the top of my head Defender/Guardian Gear is even told by the DEVS to avoid if you are new to MHW/Franchise Its gear that is made to catch up if your switching from consoles, OR if you made a new profile and wanna get up to the one with your main one faster its NOT made for new players, BUT of course theres NOTHING stopping you aside from the risks of ruining your own enjoyment if you do decide to run it This is NOT trying to 'Gatekeep' this is just WARNING you that using this gear MAY well ruin your experience with the game. (Results via Google btw) Yes. Avoid them. Defender gear is better used on alt characters should you want to rush them through after already completing the game defender armour is counterproductive. It may help you reach Iceborne faster, but it will also make you unprepared for the difficulty spike that awaits you there. Iceborne introduces new mechanics, such as the clutch claw and the tenderizing system, that require you to be more aggressive and precise. anyway weither or not you choose to stay with this gear, I hope you enjoy the game and I wish you GL and Happy Hunting! ALSO Your Cat or Palico has special gadgets per area you would WANT too look into getting ASAP they are INSANLEY helpful and Underrated~!
