This game was already consuming my life and then I reach the damn guiding lands. I might actually have to quit my job now. I got a shit ton of investigations already that I'm trying to get to and now they drop the guiding lands where apparently there's a few secret monsters that I havnt even seen or heard of yet. Not to mention the rajang update that dropped today. (And he destroyed me) Capcom ain't fuckin around.

So this is why they made the drop in drop out more reactive on monster difficulty, so there's no penalty for jumping into someones Guiding Lands then leaving them after a hunt or two.

Nah this change needed to happen anyway because it was straight up inefficient and a largely inferior experience to hunt with only 1 other friend.

Pro tip in the guiding lands. when another monster shows up to the fight that you have don’t scare it away instead flinch shot that monster into the one you’re fighting for 2 free knock downs, the hit box is pretty generous so you will probably be hitting the monster 9/10 times.

I'm glad they made expedition game play important. It was such a cool feature in MHW and it was a shame that you spent your entire endgame just farming investigations and event quests. Expeditions bring the WORLD feeling in MHW and I can't wait to experience it.

@@jerq887 tbh they're still pretty relevant, remember that The Guiding Lands gives you materials exclusive for that area, and you're not even payed for the monsters you're hunting. So technically investigations and bounties are still a valid thing.

Copy and pasting this everywhere so forgive me if I'm giving information you already put kind one. 😀 Use the geology charm or get geology maxed!! Not only do you get 5 bonebiles instead of 3 and 4 mining instead of 3, you also get 2 pickups from each shiny drop on the ground. So you get double rewards. Everytime the monster drops an item when you pick it up it wont disappear and you can pick it up again!!! I've used it on everything but tempered but I haven't killed them yet in guiding lands cause I've been farming small mats. It doesnt work on jagras weirdly enough but every other monster. It doesn't let you get 2 mining/bonebiles out of big outcrops though! GO FARM THEM MATS!! 😀 Edit: Doesn't work on puki either.

Never quite understood everything about them, but i agree. The Eternal Vengeance sword & shield was the best dragon element s&s in 4U (and i own it! Fully maxed! Not to mention it looks good design-wise). The augmentations are, imo, cheap replacements.

Not sure what exactly you're expecting, so I'm honestly wondering what you would want as a perfect (but vaguely realistic) Monster Hunter endgame. Remember that we can't exactly just say "oh, let's add new monsters and new weapons, almost like another rank after Master rank!" or something because then you're not asking for an endgame, you're asking for the game to never end.

I'd rather have a seamless experience playing than trying not to get one-shotted by a monster I need to kill for a random chance of a random weapon streamstone for a random category of weapon I dont even use. Guidings lands sounds much much better gameplay loop wise than tempered investigation hunting and tempered elder farming.

@J Wilt Underwater battles like in Tri and Tri Ultimate would be better implemented in another game, since this is a very specific movement mechanic (swimming) and would simply not work with a lot of the design of this game, not to mention a wholly different meta. I LOVED some underwater battles in Tri (especially the sea behemoth battle, forgot it's name) and the huge sand elder dragon on a sandship, but underwater combat was somewhat clunky and I perfectly understand that there is still very much to do in MHW to forego it completely. Development priorities I guess.

Yes, it is very hard to do but the most amount of areas you can have at max are three, this leaves two level one areas and two level 4 areas though

I super dont get this track feature, i hope you could help me; so i fought zinogre, captured him and fought him again in the arena. No investigations appeared. How do i get to lure a second zinogre in the grinding lands? When i go into the lure menu, it says "Zinogre: 0". Do i need to fill the fanged wyvern bar again? Do i need to find turfwar signs beforehand? Pls halp

From what I'm guessing with the information in the video, you need to dick around in there until you get lucky and find another zinogre lure. It's investigations but worse it seems

I have burned myself out a bit on this series so i need a break. I havent progressed much in icebourne due to this but i do have a question. I use health boost 3 but even with eating and taking a max potion my health still looks way smaller compared to other people who have it. Best advice is to rush a master set, then find some skills you want and sit on that armor set for a bit. You're looking at similar differences in total defense (~10-30 at max between a r9 and r11 set), so just use what you like and be sure to upgrade it as much as possible

As for weapons, climb the bone or ore tree for your weapon since they're extremely easy to farm for (got my r9 weapon on day 1, for example). It's actually just as easy as the jump from low to high rank as far as gearing goes

Am I the only one who thinks that the level juggling for the Guiding Lands may end up discouraging you from doing things in certain zones? Like "Oh, I want to do this mission in the Coral Highlands, but I can't because it will decrease my forest level at the Guiding Lands". Couldn't it also turn into a chore of "Oh ffs, now I have to go do a whole bunch of stuff in the forest to get the level up again"? Someone please tell me what I'm missing, because all of this juggling and worrying doesn't sound fun.

Yeah I have the same worry that it turns into a bad grind just to balance the different zones lvl. Will have to see once more info comes out about it though.

Well after 2 weeks and playing in the Guiding Lands this is how endgame is, a tedious grind to get a zone to level 7 ignoring everything else cause leveling is so slow and killing stuff in other areas might decrease the progress you just made. And god forbid you need a material from a monster in another area, leveling that up will decrease the one you maxed. And you need materials from all areas at Level 7 if you want to all the augment options or you want to upgrade your charms to their maximum potential.

I feel that the guiding lands are a test to see how people react to it. I think if Nintendo gets a new monster hunter game that it will be like guiding lands. it's open but more compact. no loading screens but you still can do quests. Maybe they will have the "handler" follow you around or some kind of carrier bird system so you can just stay where you are and keep hunting and doing quests. Only go back to town for story stuff.

now i like grinding land(mhw) than anomaly grinding(mhr) because i will just stay at grinding land, lure any monsters i want, i get the mats, i remember when i stay at grinding land for 5 hours not going back to town 😁 i remeber when using sleep sns and wallbanging tenpred velkhana until it runaway got 20+ mats only from wall bang, then i can meld it to another mats 🤣🤣🤣

The new augmentations work with a points system, and you can get exclusive materials to augmentate your weapons

Hey Arekkz. Love your videos man but i have a question that I have asked others and it has gone unanswered. I dont have time to play a lot but still i have gotten pretty far in the iceborne and the guiding lands. Only my forest is level 6 so far everything else is 3. My question is, if I am at one regions level cap does it still go down or does is stay capped while i work on others?

It will go down, at MR 99 you can do level 7 but the most areas you can have maxed is 3 which will leave two level 1 areas and two level 4 areas
