Drifter Fortinet I’d love to play it but I don’t have a Switch. Bit disappointed considering every other game aside from World was released on the 3DS. But meh. The few people who I follow that play it really like it. It’s a completely different beast from World but I think (don’t quote me on it) it has the biggest roster of any game in the series. Monsters will kick your ass and make you feel like the most garbage hunter ever but it only adds to the absolute satisfaction you get when you finally defeat the monster. The cycle of fighting monsters, making armor and weapons from them in order to fight bigger and stronger monsters to make their gear is addicting. The combat is complex, skill-based, and smooth. In my opinion, monster hunter has been more difficult of a series than dark souls. There are some bs moments in MH like some really insane hitboxes *cough* Plesioth *cough* and in more traditional MH games, even healing is more punishing than it is in Dark Souls. Boss fights can take very long depending on your gear and skill. An experienced hunter can turn a 20 min fight into a 2-5 min fight. MH is best played with friends and it makes the game either easier or harder depending on how competent your friends are. MH also has a lot of charm which is why I really enjoy the game. There are tons of different playstyles and combos that each weapon offers. My personal favorites are the Switch axe, dual blades, and light bow gun. And the Elder Dragons in this game will push you to the limits and test everything you’ve learn in the game as a Monster Hunter. So good luck and don’t give up because it’s all about the hunt! Gaiamatt lol, I enjoy the mobility that LBG offered but HBG really does pack the punch. I play generally every weapon except the lances and hbg but the ones I listed in my original comment are ones I usually gravitate towards. SnS was my favorite in gen with the oils and it makes me sad to see that oils aren’t returning in MHW

Yep. Only became interested on seeing the trailer for this one. It’s strangely feels comfy to me, probably because it does have some Soulsborne elements in it, like the “trick” weapons, the clunkiness of swinging greatswords three times your size, chugging potions, etc.

I wanted to come back and share a story. It happened at the end of last year. But I was hunting a temp anjanath. In the early stages a tobi Kadachi showed up and had a turf war. What shocked me is for the next 15 minutes of the fight. The tobi chased the anjanath and fought him with me. Without once attacking me or even trying to attack me. It was one of the cooler parts in the game for me
