Remember when the commentators would say “the time is up anything more is just extra for the fans” now the drivers just stop as soon as the time is up almost like there trying to rush the event

In some aspects they do try and keep to a fairly tight schedule, but also now with the fan judging that is in place drivers know that if they continue after their time it will actively hurt their freestyle score. The 30 second timer for fan scoring starts as soon as the lights go green, so if a driver spends even 15 seconds doing something extra people have even less time to score them, and the people who pay attention are probably the ones who will score high.

How those shocks didn't explode or any spindles/wheels broke off when he came down again is testament to how solidly built these trucks are now. Go back 10-12 years and it didn't take much (seemingly) for a spindle to break. I felt sorry for Backdraft especially at times. Such a cool-looking truck, but all too susceptible to breakage.

USHRA (1986-1993) TNT Motorsports (1987-1990) PENDA (1991-1996) USA Motorsports (1997-1998) Inside Monster Jam (1997-1998) Monster Jam 1999 I know that there are 22 episodes of the 1999 season. 18 Monster Jam & 4 U.S Off-Road Championship Series. I look forward to seeing all of that added to the KZbin Channel Membership someday.

The actual driving and tricks keep getting better every year, but the production is getting worse. There’s no reason there needs to be 5 Grave Diggers in the world finals, it’s as if the non-Monster Jam run trucks get 0 love and are completely different than those others. The commentating seems produced and fake and they skipped half the field despite all of them “earning their places there”, give me a break

This one was probably because mavtv only allows a certain time frame, and yeah not all had memorable moments, but one thing I can say is no the commentary at least for this was not produced, they were there, as the event was happening, and grave diggers I get it but also they were different colors unlike last year and they did earn their spot at world finals, besides they all fit in grave digger not in anything else

Although he said in an interview, he was fine with the score, but we all know he should've been at least in the top 3. Another thing to point out was that after every truck went out for freestyle, the dirt got pushed in, and it didn't make the last remaing trucks jump so high.

they should've shown all the freestyle runs, not just select trucks while others only get a few seconds of highlight reels. Such a shame that they had to be cut in order for the show to fit in a one hour segment. 11 trucks had their runs cut down to 5 second highlight reels (12 if you count mohawk warrior which wasn't able to get fired up), that's ridiculous and a big disappointment.

I remember when I used to watch Monster Jam as a kid. It was really special back then. Now, watching some of the new stuff that they've come up with and the different commentators and everything. with no disrespect to anybody that likes this news style of Monster Jam, it's just not the same for me. I miss Mark Schrader, and Scott Douglas. I miss it when they say, you know, hey, the time is up, but he's just doing it for the fans, or she's just doing it for the fans. Like, that was just retro monster jam to me.

It’s been a long time since I watched or went to a monster truck event. My 2 year old is changing that for sure!! He calls Grave Digge, Daddy Digger and Son of a Digger, Baby Digger. Why is there so many Grave Diggers?! They all seem to have different colors. Why not just come up with individual paint designs and names? Is it a marketing thing to make sure you have a Grave Digger at any event with monster trucks, in case one’s broken or driver issues? Does Mr. Anderson (the original Daddy Digger) still run at all or did he fully retire? Does he work for Monster Jam to help put this stuff together?

Bros special move was two consecutive backflips, instant shut off too. Freestyle has gotten so soft in 10 years. I understand safety, but the freestyles in sam Boyd stadium will legitimately never be topped. This new generation of drivers as well as fans are watching a completely different type of monster jam then back in the 2010’s. I still like MJ it’s Just way to safe and repetitive with all these dirt mound finals layouts and trucks getting killswitched at the most minor inconvenience…
