I like how many of these guys ended up driving for Steve Sims over at Monster Trucks Unlimited. That was always one of the coolest independent teams out there.

There is very little left to love about Monster Jam nowadays, but Cole Vernard coming into his own behind the wheel of the Black Pearl is one of those things. I legitimately hope he gets a world title someday and joins the likes of Jim Koehler, Jimmy Creten, and Mike Vaters II as indies who've beaten FELD at their own game.

Honestly I find this kinda fascinating , I always wondered what happened to these drivers and it’s so cool to see what became of them

I think it’s a little unfortunate for the drivers who don’t have their own their own trucks like chad tingler and bj Johnson because you can tell that they are holding back from the excellence they once had. Given that they joined teams it means they don’t have their own budget to follow meaning they can’t go as stupid wild as they want

Chad drives for Steve Sims' outfit, and Sims has never been afraid to spend money on the truck. The reason why you didn't see him going all-out in the videos here is because they were taken at arena venues, and you've never been able to go as big at arenas as Chad could driving the Grave Digger at a stadium.

I’m very surprised that Quad Chaos got special paint scheme for Bailey. Gotta love that camera angle in Quad Chaos’s first video pick

I was gonna say if Cole isn't #1 we were gonna have some issues lol. All of these drivers moved on to bigger and better things in my opinion

Are there less restrictions and rules with independent shows? It seems like it
@MonsterJamTop52 жыл бұрын
Definitely, drivers are much more free to do as they want in the independent circuit.

@@MonsterJamTop5 I’ve been to quite a few independent shows and they’re always a bit more relaxed. They certainly do have a lot more of that grassroots feeling if you know what I mean, but I’ve always wanted to go to one of the big independent shows, those seem like a lot of fun.
@andylasceski2 жыл бұрын
@@MonsterJamTop5 it also shows who they really are as a driver. Yes they have to pay for it and fix it but they often tines can put on the best show because they aren't restricted to company rules and regulations
@MonsterJamTop52 жыл бұрын
Very true, a great example is Steve Sims. When competing in FELD shows he doesn't do too much and finishes toward the bottom. In independent shows he drives much more aggressively and wins quite often.

I honestly didn’t know that Morgan Kane went independent. I thought he was still with team GD.

Maybe that’s why he’s not racing in monster jam next year 🤔

@@MTJackinator I mean he drove hooked twice in MJ, so idk. Shane is driving it next year (he told me), but not Allentown weekend. So you never know who that sub driver might turn up to be.

@@DiecastBlazeOfficial I was saying maybe he was driving hooked outside of mj, there are more than 1 hooked chassis

@@MTJackinator ya idk maybe he might be the fill in driver for Shane at Allentown who knows I would like it

@@DiecastBlazeOfficial well no I mean he might not be involved with monster jam at all and be purely independent but what you said could be partially true
