the design is a mish-mosh of real -life spiders, the big eyes are from Jumping spiders and ogre-faced spiders , but the downward facing mandibles are from the Mygalomorphae an infra-order of arachnids, while the body covered in hair could come from Mygalomorphae or anyother spider . pretty cool stuff. nice drawing

Thank you for this. I have a very soft spot for the ettercap. It was the first real “boss monster” I encountered. First near player death too. This monster informed me of how dnd was played, a living, dangerous world where danger lies around every corner, and one must have their wits about them.

Saw a couple of your videos and figured I might throw in my own two cents. Let's go with the lesser known but *extremely* deadly Bodak, something that anyone delving into any deep, forgotten catacomb would do well to watch out for.

ever since I got bit by a Brown Recluse Spider and my back and spine began to dissolve, IRL, I've wanted an Ettercap Necromancer with a necrophagic attack, that the victim of which doesn't understand until a few days later. The pain, when it got past my skin, and started working on the nerves of my spine, was BEYOND anything, 3 days after I was screaming with a hunting knife in my hand in a parking lot pleading for anyone to cut out this pain, which I still didn't know where it came from. A nice lady with no fear came to my help and told me I needed to go to a hospital after she saw the rotted mass of flesh on my back. So I did. Thank God. I had no idea, I couldn't see my own back, no mirrors that were that low. horrifying. 2 surgeries. let me tell you next about the wolf spiders on my shoulder when I was in an old basement. then let me tell you about my english teacher in jr. hi. who had, "a big pimple", until it burst open in class and baby spiders came crawling out of her cheek. Despite all that I'm still not scared of spiders. But I do kill them on sight!

Nice job, as always, my good man! Ettercaps are an undersetimated foe. In Pathfinder lore, they also tend to leave all sorts of traps in their lairs, which is a very nice addition to the roleplay options. PS. Welcome back from the honeymoon!

My party just got done dealing with a ghost ship filled with these buggers. They managed to score some KOs but the party was pretty fast to use fire to flush out the creepy buggers.

Glad to see another monster monday, happy to see you back. Hope you had a wonderful honeymoon with your wifey and have the best for the rest of your lives together. Ettercaps are a very cool and creepy monster wonderful creature to curse someones form into. Not sure if it'd be obsured or rude to suggest more monsters, especially with the xvart and hydroloth already in the batch. Still quite keen on the concept that Xvarts where masquerad or tiki masks to differentiate between one another but I wanted to ask if you'd do monsters from non 5e books such as tome of beasts or homebrew content from other people (I'm writing my own book as a note for that). Once again thanks for all the work you put into this channel I personally appreciate it alot, every concept and design makes my monday worth while. Especially with my rarity to actual play and only work on dnd5e these little boosts of variety give me joy.

Ahhh... those are creepy. Arachnophobia intensifies. I can totally imagine one of these with a hoard of spiders crawling all around it. Beautiful drawing, tho. Would love to see you using those *skilz* to draw a roc, any way you may wish to draw it; Thunderbird, Phoenix, normal roc, do what you want! Most importantly, keep up the amazing content and satisfy our hunger for drawings! Thank you for... existing, I guess? I would also like to present you to a challenge (unusual, I know). I see you choose to draw on parchment-like background. Well, why don’t you actually draw the way people drew at the time, a Bestiary-like style of art? That would be *SO* interesting.

I really want to draw a Roc, David! I keep putting it on my Patreon list, but it rarely gets picked, which is really frustrating! I'll keep trying though! @@ArcaneForge It's a fun game, with an enjoyable art style, lovely sound design and tons of tension when things get tough. Webber's probably one of the most interesting characters, to me at least, because there's the simple question of "How did this happen?" and you can build him up as just about anything from a scientific mistake, an accident turned into a blessing, or something else
