Fun fact: Cows (and other herbivores) are sometimes observed eating dead animals in the wild. Apparently it is to combat mineral deficiency due to grazing on meagre grasslands. So maybe a Minotaur becomes much friendlier after it pops a few multivitamins.
@ArcaneForge7 жыл бұрын
That's both grim and fascinating, which are the best kinds of facts, Rahensul! Definitely good to know, although the tide of players, skirting around Minotaurs by finding vitamins to feed them will definitely be a pretty funny anticlimax to the encounter. Thanks so much for watching.

In my home-brew world, I have a race of minotaurs that're based on the African Cape Buffalo known as the Khovoku. If you think the Grecian minotaur is a scary customer, the Khovoku minotaur is the stuff of nightmares.

You'd think that, considering the Minotaur was stuck in a labyrinth his whole life and didn't take Theseus long to hunt him down and kill him, that all the labyrinth related stuff (Remembering their path here or building/destroying stone walls at will in Pathfinder) wouldn't be as strong...

So a) love these videos, sad I only just learned of them. Keep up the good work. b) I'm really glade you're using purple for cloth colours. Purple in history was a very expensive dye that was saved only for the super rich. It was used for royalty and things like that. This is why you never see the colour purple in things like flags (with the exception of some much newer countries), as you wanted your flag mass made and put everywhere and be like ... this is mine, my flag.... So seeing purple in stuff like D&D is great because... fantasy! maybe purple is super common and therefor cheap. Maybe there's a purple worm farmer who uses the skin to make enough dye for a massive city from just one kill and he'll pay a lot of money for someone to go hunt one down for him... sorry ... colours, making D&D adventures... good times.

Minotaurs are fun! Great drawing! 👍👍👍My players once befriended an entire colony of minotaurs -- rescued them from some githyanki -- and three of the minotaurs helped them fight the rest of the githyanki in the compound. One of the minotaurs, Grull, ended up adventuring with them a little bit, too. It was really cool.😎

That sounds pretty awesome! Thanks so much for watching and for your compliments as well by the way! Loved your missing players vid by the way! Super helpful!

Excellent work! Gotta love some Greek mythology over one of the most iconic fantasy monsters. What a way to turn an unique mythical creature into an entire race, though! And since you asked for a monster to draw last time, let's go with Drow! I'm really curious about the history behind them, given they been around since really early editions. Keep it up! I really love your videos!
@ArcaneForge7 жыл бұрын
Than you so much, Mauro! Now, we're talking! Love the Drow! If noone's suggested it yet, I'll definitely add it to the list. Thanks so much for the suggestion and for watching.

This one was great! Lore is just one of the most entertaining things to explore and I love learning more about creatures. Also you may not remember but a long time ago I commented on one of your videos talking about how I found being a DM difficult and you encouraged me. Well now I'm doing pretty well and it's videos like this that help me find my inspiration.

Thanks so much, Dylan! I'm so glad that I helped out! I remember your name, but I can't totally recall our conversation. Either way, I'm so glad that you're having a better time with it. Just let me know if you have any trouble and I'll try and make a video about it. Cheers again, Dylan!

In my homebrew setting Minotaurs are worshippers of Ioun, the goddess of knowledge. They use their inate navigational skills to traverse the seas as pirates and mercenaries, and are a playable race that I always try to make available to my players.
@kyliepoe62317 жыл бұрын
Greek mythology is great! I also loved them growing up. Petty, vindictive, pervert gods toying with mankind... I know they're even canon in 1e, but they must have greatly inspired G Gygax on the way he handled dieties in general. I don't think I've seen your greek take on a minotaur done before, that's brilliant and seems correct.

This is super cool! I actually made a Minotaur character that I'll hopefully be able to use in the future~ He's a druid and super shy, but really likes nature haha I think he would be fun to play, if a bit challenging!

Nice one, Lullaby TheKitty! I've never actually played a Minotaur but I live the sound of it. I'm a huge fan of the Tauren in Warcraft. Your druid sounds like they'd fit in well with that sort of thing! Cheers for watching and for taking the time to comment!

@ArcaneForge7 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much, Randomizer! OOoooooOOO I don't think I have dragons of any kind of my "to draw" list yet. As you say, there are tonnes...soooo...What would your favourite colour be? I'll pop it on the list. Cheers for watching and for your kind words.
@Randomizer4117 жыл бұрын
Arcane Forge oh man, I love blue dragons. I've always imagined them as loan sharks or mobsters who amass huge amounts of gold. As an artist myself, I think the classic red dragon would be fun to draw. Matt Colville, another youtuber, is kickstarting a book that will include gem dragons, which could be a very difficult, but awesome concept to draw. So many options!

I'm loving you Monster Monday videos and I have two questions: Can I use your images as examples of the monsters to my players? (I think they are way better than the Monster Manual) Could you make a video showing your process? I get some of that, but I'm not really good with Photoshop
@ArcaneForge7 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much, Gabriel! You can absolutely use my images as examples for your players, that's very kind of you to ask! I'll definitely give it a go, showing my process. I'm still figuring it out...I'm used to non-digital drawing, but I'll give it a go! Thanks so much for watching and for your compliments!

LOL ^_^ Not that I've ever been an expert on Greek Mythology myself, but this is the first time I've heard of Daedalus making a device to 'assist' Minos' wife with the bull. I wonder if Catherine The Great found the plans for it? (I know, that's a rumor spread by her rivals, but its still funny to think about ^_^)
