MONSTER on Lake of the Woods Walleye

This week we head up to Lake of the Woods to find some MONSTER walleyes! We hook up with Joe Henry who runs the tourism for lake of the woods! We started off pulling crawler harnesses over some deep structure and then landed a giant fish! Finished up the day chasing some good eaters for dinner. He showed us a great day of fishing and even got to do some sight seeing in Baudette!!

Used to go way out on the mud flats mid summer with my cousin about 30 years ago. Tremendous fishing both eyes and sauger. Huge schools of fish. I remember 1 day catching 5 eyes between 28-30”. Also caught some big northern right at the mouth of the Rainy River. Great memories.

How did you guys do on Lake Mendota Larry? Saw your truck and trailer at the Warner Park Launch in Madison, was quite windy for my 16' called it a day after a couple of hours getting slammed by sw winds.

Nice video Lake Of The Woods. Gotta love it, I have been fishing there for over 40 years. I have at least a dozen walleye just under 30". Half a dozen Northern Pike over 40",all caught on walleye gear, and a 36" Musky. Lots of Sturgeon in the 50lb class, and 1 that had to be a Hundred pounds !! I literally couldn't pull it in the boat. I have 1 handed sturgeon up to 65lb. My wife caught a 36" 21lb Lake Trout. My daughter caught a 20lb eelpout. The lake covers Manatoba, On the west, Minnesota in the middle, and Ontario on the East. Heaven looks a lot like this.
