Baradul, I run this exact same build, except on the Arctic wolf.

Yep, more armor (and even armor quirks!), jump jets and ECM with the same weapons loadout. Yeah, it's not a light, but its only 5 tons heavier (talking ACW-A omni with Prime LT - I suppose you could run the battlemech version and put a bigger engine in too).

I like this build even more on the Cougar, because hey, I'll trade a little speed for ECM and you can easily either put in a bit more ammo and a spare heat sink to help.

I use dual streak 6's and dual lrm10s on my adder, then a heavy laser for the head laser.

Thank you Baradul! As you know the Adder is my favorite mech & there just isn't enough content on the wee thing. It always performs & even though it's slow, it punches way above it's weight class. You don't pilot an Adder, you become Adder...

Well... up to 104.5kph isn't really "slow". Especially if you bring a UAC-20 and some flamers to light up the party...

The adder, when placed in its natural habitat, is a dangerous thing to behold. I don't become the adder though. I am the snake charmer that bends the snake to my will, and makes it my tool.

I run a similar build on the kitfox without Artemis/flamer and with triple AMS added. I hang out near the assault mechs giving them missle umbrella then beat up the targets they engage with. Works amazingly well as people underestimate your damage potential.

I know the engine probably can't support it, but you should be able to tunnel through the glaciers and snow with a flamer.

Couple more for you to try Baradul. 2 atm9, 2 heavy med and a tag. then there is 4 er smalls, uac20 and 3 tons of ammo. The Adder is one of my all time favorite mechs!

Eh, I just run this with straight 4xSRM6A. Flamer might tempt you to staredown a target to keep the flamer on it. You should usually be shooting and twisting quickly to spread damage.

Adder can't twist, it just melts. Might as well run a flamer.

IMHO, the tunnel push/rush on the classic map became obsolete when the format switched to 12 vs 12.

I ended up 1v1-ing someone using this exact build just now in my stealth PHX-2 (6 SPL, 2 JJs, and XL 350 + 3 additional DHS). Thought I was dead since I got into the fight with already high heat and stealth armor active when he started using the flamer on me. Only won because his SRM 6 fire wasn't quite on point enough and he overheated himself into shutdown, giving me time to cool down and destroy his already armor-stripped legs. Scary thing to turn a corner and run into, though.

Have you ever tried a Firebrand with 2 PPC's and two AC/5's? I got a light 245 in it, 3 tons of ammo and 3 DHS, some shaved armor on legs. It is basically dual Gauss but trades some velocity, heat and converges for better DPS, more ammo (if counting alpha strikes) and no weapon explosions.

Does the laser duration nodes affect the flamer? If not, then it looks like you wasted 4 nodes in the FP tree?

Shoots every single uav, but leave mechs because they don't have weapons. Lol. That nova was targeting and being a great meat shield for his cauldron-bud and in hindsight, it would have been more valuable to kill him earlier instead of leaving him and getting wiped out.
