I saw it tonight. I thought it was great. I wish it would have taken place during Halloween but it was far better than I expected and just a really fun movie to watch.

Mel Gibson is going better than most filmmakers lol. He’s been doing a lot actually. He did a tv series to John wick spin-off last year He produced Sound of Freedom which was the best movie in 2023. Father Stu is recent. He’s the director for Flight Risk coming out this month. He’s now working on Lethel Weapon 5 & The Resurrection. Can you tell me why you thought he hasn’t been seen much lately?

Seeing his name in the credits as director or producer isn’t the same as seeing them on screen. Also, I didn’t see either of those projects he’s in

I saw it and liked it. I really like the older guy-boy dynamic. Mel Gibson still has a lot of carisma. Good spooky freights too. I like the family friendly spooky fun for younger people.

If this was a made-for-TV Nickelodeon flick that aired in October (as Halloween fare), I'd probably give it a solid "thumbs up." If you approach it as an enjoyable 90 minute kid-friendly "horror" movie, you can get something out of it. I saw it in a nearly empty theater (no promotion at all), and left the theater feeling ... ok. For a lazy Sunday afternoon matinee leading up to Halloween, I felt like it was worth my time. It isn't great. I wouldn't advise anyone to go out of their way to see it. But when it inevitably turns up on cable or streaming next October ... maybe check it out. It has a certain amount of charm.

Agree about the "friend dynamic" in this movie. That was an area that could have lifted the movie beyond what it ended up being.

lol it is advertised as a "kiddish" family friendly movie. if you go into this expecting terrifier gore or maybe adult horror, you must have not watched the trailers.

The highest projections have the oceans rising 6 feet over 50 to 100 years, Martha’s Vineyard shoreline is a sheer rock face about 40 feet high. I wonder why they didn’t buy their 30 acre plot in Florida or Louisiana swampland?
