I disagree about the bunny rabbit. In the original (spoilers) the dad was praised and called a hero for going back for the bunny rabbit. It stroked his ego, and it’s implied that he doesn’t get to feel like that a lot. So him going back for the bunny wasn’t really for the daughter, it was for himself. Where’s in the remake, he doesn’t even find the bunny in the beginning. AND he wants his daughter to get rid of the bunny anyways so why would he care if they left it? HOWEVER the remake did do something interesting. When Agnes is crying for her bunny she says they’re going to hurt him like they hurt Ant. And then at the end when they’re trying to leave for the second time, he sees them hurt Ant and he immediately jumps out of the car and goes back. Kinda cool, idk
@Main_Khamakha3 ай бұрын
He didn't care about the bunny at all. Its just the fact that she started having an anxiety attack in the car which almost lead to an accident and them dying, he understood that they needed to get that damn plushie. His face said it all when he took the U turn.

I have seen the original but the way you described the film and its meaning actually reminded me of a very weird experience I had on vacation a couple years ago. Long story short we were in a 3rd world country doing a small group tour and the tour stopped taking us to the pre designated locations. There were many excuses for this but it got weirder and weirder. My husband and I were immediately suspicious but no one else on the tour was. Those people were all solo travelers and we were shocked they were so naive to not be bothered by being driven into the middle of nowhere at night in a dangerous country. We eventually demanded the guide let us out of the car. I feel like the other tourists were tricked because the guide seemed to be nice and friendly and positive. It might have ended fine but we weren't about to find out the opposite direction
@anitaknight39153 ай бұрын
I was just thinking I wonder if this happens more than we'd like to think because people are more at risk being easily trusting in foreign countries with their defenses down while on vacation. It'd be easier to take ppl and make them go missing in a foreign country. That's insane to stay with strangers you just met on vacation like in the original.

The original film's director and writer, Christian Tafdrup, criticized the change, claiming that "I don’t know what it is about Americans, but they are brought up for a heroic tale, where the good must win over the bad, and this version of the film cultivates that.".....Enough said.

I never saw the original but considering you liked this movie is enough to bring my interest to this movie cause I expected this movie to fail especially bc of the constant L’s Blumhouse has been getting this year. Wha I noticed so far with the reactions to this movie for the original critics liked the movie but audiences didn’t but for the remake it looks like both critics & audiences enjoy the movie.

I remember staying away from trailers for THE CABIN IN THE WOODS and that was one of my best decisions I ever made!! But If you want to watch both of the movies I would suggest you watch the new one first. Because the conclusion will shadow the new one. I watched the first one before seeing the remake last night and i still cant get scenes from original out of my mind.......even fresh off watching the remake!

It looked like it had way more going on in the trailers honestly, I'm excited!

I thought this movie was very mediocre. Some of the dumbest characters I’ve genuinely ever seen on film

I saw it today and preferred it to the original (and I love the original)! So pleasantly surprised.
