Monster Truck Rally... On Acid!

Monster-truck racing is traditionally the domain of men from rural pockets of the United States who have a bunch of free time on their hands and no qualms with spending upwards of $150,000 on wildly impractical vehicles. Despite the fact that there are roughly a gazillion officially sanctioned Monster Jam events around the country in any given year, many people who live in cities know nothing about the sport and the culture surrounding it. We were some of those frail urbanites who didn't know the difference between a carburetor and a crankshaft, so when we heard a Monster Jam was happening about two hours outside New York, we grabbed our buddy Dan, shoved two hits of acid down his throat, and headed up to Hartford, Connecticut, to find out what kind of damage a gigantic truck with 2,000 ponies under the hood can do.

My first and only time taking acid: I took 2 and 1/2 hits of purple microdot with my best friend. It took nearly 2 hours for it to kick in. The first thing I noticed was the individual pixels on the TV were coming towards me but at different lengths depending on the color. I also could see the air moving. We walked outside. It was nighttime. My friend thought he was Spiderman. He climbed the side of his house and I was worried he would fall (it was a 2 story house). The stars were speeding by overhead. My friend had a beautiful German shepherd named Spike. That dog loved me and always went crazy whenever I pulled up. I looked down at Spike and he looked up at me and said, "Wow! You're fucked up, huh?". I told him I was and we proceeded to have a long conversation about being a dog, being human, the effect of time, the universe. I was really surprised and impressed by how much he knew and understood. I talked my friend back down off the house and we went back inside. We took turns talking to ourselves in the mirror (I don't advise doing so. 😳). We both passed out at some point and woke up around 3pm. We went and had breakfast and I went home.

Another time I worked in a meat department of a grocery store. Took two hits in the middle of my shift with my coworker. The drain on the floor flooded when we went to wash the counters down so it was 3 inches of water. I was scared to touch the water, so I sat in a rolling meat bin and used two brooms as oars to "paddle" my way across. I got lost though and thought I was stranded at sea. Luckily my buddy got me out before management noticed lol.
