One thing I like to use for aerating the soil in my plants is a dotting tool, like for nail design. It`s nimble and can get into little spaces like a spike, but it isn`t as sharp as other spiky things because it`s got a ball on the end!

I got a lot of cuttings (already with roots) from my parent. Put it in whatever soil i have at my backyard and it did nothing for weeks, even declined a little bit. Then i changed the soil into a special monstera soil mix that i bought from a monstera specialist nursery. That’s what became my first realization that every plant needs different kind of ingredients in their soil and it’s even more mindblowing to know that there’s no actual soil in some of those “soil mix”. I was a noob and ignorant at that time lol

You have the most beautiful adansonii! And scindapsus pictus exotica! And so many others! I would love a video on how to start with a small plant and make it bigger through propagation or other tips. Prices have gone up for sure so I think a lot of us are maybe buying smaller plants in hopes it will grow bigger. Also, I think there is a lot of pride in successfully growing our plants bigger. I could totally hear in your voice how proud you are of this plant.

My monstera stays outside on my balcony year round( sub tropical India) it gets bright indirect light for the whole day sometimes even direct sun from 10- 12 (90°) humidity stays in 50s range and the soil is literally dirt from the garden and compost 50:50 and it's thriving ✨ also I love your videos Harli!!!❤️

My monsters Adansonii was sooo root bound when I bought it, I had to repot it into a 10” pot when I brought it home. It was also in direct sunlight at the nursery I got it from so it was crispy. But now it’s an absolute unit! I’ve given away 5 baby plants already and it just keeps stretching out! Love it! Awesome vid, Harli

I have had an uphill battle with my adansonii baby since I got her in the mail back in March (with root rot upon arrival ..super sad face) buttttt I cut up and water propagated her and now slowly but surely she is split into 2 smaller plants and new growth is FINALLY happening :,) I am so grateful she is making a recovery. P.S. My sister got one the same time and found it in a Lowes and hers is thriving and gorgeous.

Just noticed a trend in the comments section.. so many female comments vs male comments. I've been interested in plants for years and although my mother got me interested in plants from an early age, I didn't realise it was so female dominated.. or is it just a false perception? Great video! And I'd agree.. the faucet clip was funny and a nice little bit of editing. Makes these videos so enjoyable. I've just taken about 6 or 8 cuttings from my adansonii that seemed to root in a few weeks. I just planted them at the base of my mother Adansonii and a devil's ivy (I know.. two plant species, one pot.. edgy!). I'm looking to get some super thicc pots. Stay safe! Nick

I got so lucky to find a adansonii from Walmart (costa farms) I live in a 8 climate zone and it's one of the easiest plants to care for (like pothos easy). It enjoys being root bound, so I recommend waiting till theres more root than soil to repot! and loves drying out *completely* before I water it next, (which will help with gnats too) and is very drought tolerant over all. Mines on a moss pole climbing up, but fair warning not only does it grow bigger it grows way FASTER once the aerial roots interact with the pole so be prepared for a large plant even after just a few months. Thank you for sharing Harli ! I can't wait till mine is your size !!! 🤩

Here are my tips: 1. Let thoroughly dry before watering, then water it a ton (if you have good drainage) to ensure all roots get water. I actually use succulent dirt and bark in my Adansonii to ensure the water drains well. 2. When propagating be sure to leave the clipping for at least 15 hours to callous over or it will likely get root rot. If you have a heated fish tank, use it! They work amazing for propagating

sounds like i really need to get a fishtank at some point. i keep hearing so much about it and it seems like fishtanks and plants have such a nice synergy. from propagation to using fishtank water for watering plants.
