Monsteras like being rootbound. Good that you didnt tease the roots, and mess with them, getting everything out, just repot with a bit of fresh, course, aroid potting mix and it'll continue to thrive ❤

I’ve found using mycorrhizae in a powder form to help with transfer shock super easy if you ever want to find another way than the drench. Just that dark liquid over white carpet is scary lol

i like to live life on the edge 🤪 but yes I have some mycorrhizae i need to use!

Don't breathe in the dust from the Perlite in your substrate. You can use a water hand sprayer next time to keep it down ;-)

Yes, it can be dangerous for your lungs.

I agree with you on the moss pole. Do you really need a support for the Thai? It looks perfect as it is.

What kind of medium would you suggest for an immature Thai constellation? My boyfriend got me a baby one for Christmas and I feel like I understand general care tips… but I’m super nervous because I hear everyone talking about how easily they rot 😅
@lisabeshay512311 ай бұрын
I honestly kept it in what it came in from my nursery and I’m just careful not to drench it too much! I usually water all my plants when dry with a finger poke until it barely starts coming out the drainage holes. Really good to let it dry a bit between watering bc that really is the main thing for the root rot, havent had any watering issue for months!! It does stay in my tabletop greenhouse so I think it reduces the watering need a little

Is that mat a canvas with a coating or plastic ?

How can you tell when the Sol Soil is dry? Will a moisture meter work? Thanks!
@LeafyConversations11 ай бұрын
If you stick your finger in about an inch or more and it’s dry then water. I also use a moisture meter when in doubt.
@sarahjones68444 ай бұрын
Sol soils can be watered more frequently because it doesn't hold water like other soils. So if you're questioning it just go ahead and water it. Frequency will depend in how thirsty the plant is of course.
@brenfays32553 ай бұрын
plants by melissa has a video on sol soil plus a lot of comments agreeing with her that the soil compacts to mud at the bottom when watered, rotting the plants. she contacted sol soil who told her she overwatered and their soil should only be watered every 10 to 14 days. this isnt on any of their packaging. they have calcified clay as an ingredient which apparently compacts like this when wet and the consensus was this is causing the mud issue.

I just repotted two Thai’s, attached it to a moss pole, it’s gone brown at every point I’ve attached it. I only attached loosely with velcro tape. And now there are more brown spots over it and the new leaf 😢

Any advice for loooong roots ??? Mines are a mess don't know if I can cut but I'm afraid of 😁🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️ Please 🙏
@houseplusplant Жыл бұрын
you can cut the roots! if they're aerial roots (above soil) you can cut them with no issues. if you're talking about long soil roots you can cut those as well but don't cut more than 1/3

Thai cons are ground crawlers and don’t like/require a moss pole or trellis just FYI
@reginadsouza44326 ай бұрын
U could prune the roots before repotting. It would save u time before next repotting.
