Anybody talking crap in the comments has no idea what kind of balls it takes to charge a wave like that. Hats off Makua

That's the best description of a wipeout beat down I've heard. I've had my ass beat on a five foot wave. I can't even imagine dropping in on a beast like that.

Sean Johnstone I know exactly how it feels. I surfed rocky point on a 15 foot swell. Got dragged through insanities , ended up at pipe. Took 10-12 waves on the head. Loved every minute of it.

Makua, a true soldier, no fear, out of the best in the world, one of the only ones that I've ever heard tell a story about almost dying and embracing it with positivity and respect for Mother Nature. In my book the best ive ever seen all around. Keep ripping brother, I'm inspired every time I go out there by guys like u to push my self to be better all round. 🌊🌊🌊, Shaka brother.🤙🤙🤙🤙

So many kooks in this comment section its cringe worthy. Makua lives it while half of the people here would be lucky to paddle out in a 3 foot beach break.

Biggest wave I caught was during an Australian cyclone around 1981. Took me 20 mins paddling to finally get a break between sets to get out the back. there was only one other guy out there.... cos no one else was fit enough. I caught two waves, riding the second one in. Both were 18+ foot. Take off straight down the face, big bottom hand turn, then off the back on the first. The second held up for a 70 meter ride, then I dropped onto the board to ride the wash in. Those waves wouldn't have had 1/4 of the energy of Cloudbreak barrels.

That wave gave me chills like if was 0 degrees in a blizzard .. and everything after that I can't even imagine since my heaviest wipe out was gnarly to me but not even on the same planet compared to something like this guy went through. Making it through that washing and hold down is like making it through an avalanche on K2 or Everest. Absolutely insane
@benhulme74014 жыл бұрын
Props for him going on that wave, but he didn't get taken out by foam ball as he says - he caught his rail. Perfectly understandable as it was his first wave! I'm sure if this has been later in the session he would've made it

People don’t realize the power these waves have . When you’re at the beach , you’re never in the same place on a wave that surfers are . And being pounded with a board sucks way more than without . One of these waves is equal to I think 2 Olympic size swimming pools being dumped on your head .
