I really like the look of your cvt cover it makes the scooter look awesome
@clucasrob8512 жыл бұрын
i found the best setup for the transmission on these for top speed. i figured going to the extreme opposite ends of every part, that i would find out what it is going to help me do. i have this same scooter in the video and i bought 2000 rpm clutch springs, 2000 rpm torque spring, torque sheave, large 115mm diameter variator, 12.1 gram sliding weights, long pad racing clutch and ventilated racing clutch bell. clutch only helped better grip, bell only helped cool the clutch.
@goyip9 жыл бұрын
Before you tightening the fan bolt you should make your front belt loose...because it will interfering the way bolt to be tight...put presure on the cluth spring it will make the variator and fan tight and safe.

That chrome clutch bell looks sharp sticking out of the cover.
@Slaytanic1878 жыл бұрын
When you put on the transmission belt, you have to pull on that pulley (with the clutch bell on) so the belt goes to the center of the pulley. That way you give the transmission some slack. Then you can make sure when you put the drive plate on and tighten the nut that it's firmly against the boss. The boss is that thing you put through the center of the variator. If you don't do this, that nut on the drive plate will loosen, and the drive plate will grind against the transmission cover. You'll easily know when that happens, because you'll hear a squealing sound coming from your transmission like you've never heard before, it's loud. Also, hopefully you won't have a fall on your left side. That bell can get snapped off if you do...

clutch pads may be worn down or if the springs are worn then the clutch may grab at to low an rpm for torque. stiffer springs make the clutch wait till rpms are higher because more centrifugal force is needed to stretch the springs so you deliver more power to the back wheel when pulling out
@clucasrob8512 жыл бұрын
i've yet to test the torque sheave as i don't know how to replace it yet, and a kevlar belt as i were ripped off and sent a regular belt. as for everything else except the clutch and clutch bell, i tested the top speed with just 1 upgrade at a time. i have a limited cdi so i used it as my aid in knowing that the scooter wasn't going to go faster. all stock @51mph, 2000rpm torque spring @49mph, 2000rpm clutch springs @50, 12.1 gram sliders @53mph, and the large 115mm diameter variator @56 mph.

NICE SCOOTER MATE...LOVELY ENGINEERING
@clucasrob8512 жыл бұрын
A freind at worked asked me "Why don't you just get a performance cdi so you can go past 8000?" "Because I'm wanting the reliability of not screaming the engine everywhere I go" I told him. Besides, I had 58 mph at around 7800 with the 12.1 sliders. After replacing the gears and then on to building the motor and only then the cdi also, I should very easily achieve 80+ with the upgrades I have seen around lately. And I won't have to over rev the motor to get there.

An impact torque wrench. Nice.
@clucasrob8512 жыл бұрын
After concluding my results this far w/out testing a kevlar belt, or the sheave, only the larger diameter variator and the sliding weights helped gain top speed. GPS proven at 58 mph with the sliders being .7 gr lighter than the stock roller weights as I had them weighed at work for specific weight. With all this, I will be getting heavier sliding weights as soon as i test the torque sheave and kevlar belt. will be replacing the gears for top speed setup too before the heavier weights.
@MrBorderghost13 жыл бұрын
You should have pushed the belt into the clutch pully to make it go slack before you tightend it up at the the variator as it can sit in the pully to deep and as you tighten the nut you can crush the belt...

Lid and engine are aluminum, wont rust together. The other parts are exposed to the elements by the large hole you cut out for the clutch.

you know you should press the belt into the rear pulley to make it slack before tightening the variator you could get a false torque or put too much pressure on the belt causing damage later when the variator vibrates off or worse strip the splines because it works itself loose

I agree with monsterGY6......if the fan were to be installed the other way, the belt would get chewed up instantly and may as well engage the CVT sooner than suppose to.

I thought the gasket you put on and didn't want to damage was to keep everything inside protected from dust, water and crap getting in and then you cut a big hole in the cover letting every thing in anyway. That doesn't make sense. Why worry about the gasket then????

It is so annoying. I bought a new scooter 2-3months a ago. It is my second scooter. The first one i had was speed fight 2. I told the dealer if it was possible i would buy another SF2. They told me Peugeot made a big mistake moving the production to China. They did not now how it was possible to decline so much in quality from SF2 to SF3. Was impossible to tell if it was a design error or production error. Or just lazy workers. How do you know when something is of really good quality?
