Thanks for posting this. Very nice video. Your fortunate to have an area like that. We don't have anything like it here. Nice rig also. Well thought out. Mine is a few decades older than yours but still loves all kinds of weather. In fact so am and do I. Someone already asked about the tent. Thanks for the reply. I bought one for myself for Christmas hoping it would work well this time of year. Enjoy what we have while we have it.

Right-on, thanks Jake...It's an awesome part of the country. I have a hunch you're gonna enjoy that tent. Happy Trails! :)

Great video - thank you! Must admit that I find snow driving scary, but your jeep makes it look doable for certain!

Thank you Vannessa! It does take a little getting use to...and a well equipped vehicle makes all the difference. Thanks for watching! :)

Where was that "snow wall" if you dont mind me asking? around 5:00 on the vid
@MonsterJeep8 жыл бұрын
That was on NF-58, up just before NF-5830 (the Hideaway Lake Road). They do that every year there.

copy... Drive over it? :) Remind me, are you running 35s or 37s? Obviously you are enjoying the beadlocks and putting them to good use... :)
@MonsterJeep8 жыл бұрын
Nah, that would have taken some work. Maybe if I had me some 37's! :) (running 35's now. Love the beadlocks.) I thought about cutting that snag on the right and heading up the ditch, but I guess I wasn't feeling that ambitious. :-/

I like your elevated bivvy. I've had too many leaky tents and I'm done with them. These days I sleep in my vehicles, so I buy K5 Blazers, Cherokees, or trucks with shells. I've never had a newer Jeep unlimited, wonder how long they are inside. Waking up wet and cold, and putting away wet tents isn't my cup of tea anymore.
@MonsterJeep7 жыл бұрын
I hear ya Schizzultz. Sleeping in the car isn't a bad gig. I've done it a time or two, but it's usually in the front seat with it kicked back. :)

almost went myself on christmas for the night! great stuff! those look like ham handhelds...
@MonsterJeep8 жыл бұрын
Right-on Justin, I see you're a hamster too! Those look like nice radios. I do carry a couple of handheld ham radios and the one on the hood there is actually a scanner. I've been thinking about installing my ICOM 7000 in the Jeep, but then I'd need to figure out where to put the 2m/70cm antenna at....

Pretty good incline once you get going up NF-58. Now if you had made it all the way up High Rock I would really be impressed. Now the wife wants to go snow camping. Believe I actually saw you driving down the street, SE 102nd Gateway, in Portland the other day and pointed your jeep out to my wife.
@MonsterJeep8 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I was going to go to Hideaway Lake, but they had the snow wall in place right below the road turnoff. Your wife sounds like a real trouper. And I'm sure you saw me, I travel in that area often. Good eye, be sure to wave and say hi! Happy Trails! :)

Another great video. Are you happy with your cot tent? Seems to have a lot of advantages for use in the Pacific Northwest.
@MonsterJeep8 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I'm definitely happy with the cot tent. It's fairly comfortable, keeps you off the ground or snow and it's easy and quick to setup or tear down. On the other side, it's a little bulky to pack and you have to keep it vented well in cold weather because it will sweat. Overall, it is my favorite setup to use on the trail. :)

Thanks. I'm going to order it today along with a Kodiak Canvas Flex-Bow Tent.

I've shared links to some vids as well as directed to your channel folks from my russian blog, just curious on the amount of views it might bump you... joinly over 8000 subscribers on there...
@MonsterJeep8 жыл бұрын
I have noticed a recent jump in views, at least 1 or 2 hundred a day. Thank you, appreciate the support. :)
@budnixon8 жыл бұрын
not a problem, to me its interesting of how many of those "followers" are actual active users if that makes sense... Nowadays a lot of guys got channels with 100k subs, but they arent seen the views, so in reality numbers are actually way down.
@MonsterJeep8 жыл бұрын
That does make sense. I always find it interesting when a channel has all these subscribers and no videos?

A Million Dollar jeep!!! Give me a break! Stay home with your money! Let the hourly rated guys do the heavy lifting!!
@MonsterJeep7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mark...trust me, it's taken a few years to acquire this stuff. I'm working on getting bigger tires now, but being one of those hourly guys you speak of, it's probably gonna be another year or so before that happens. But that's ok, not complaining, just explaining... Happy Trails! :)
