Thanks for the entertaining interview! 👍 I just got Stu's book two days ago, and I am hooked. I kept on having dreams at night for some years about going into an rpg-shop and buying old rpg materials, with the fascination I used to have as an adolescent. Two years ago, I just allowed myself to live my dream, and I have gotten myself quite a large rpg collection since. This book shows me, I am not the only one.

lol - brilliant snippet on Magnum vs. Miami Vice. Very funny and gets to the root of why the 'super cool' remakes never work. And why good wives marry doofuses 😂 Good to listen to the chat. I'll put the book on my 'Lord willin' and the creek don't rise list.'

D&D is certainly in the upper third of strangeness of rpgs (the monsters, cosmology, Gary’s weird flowery prose, vancian magic and the science fantasy elements [ESP, Infravision]). Most games are more grounded like Gurps, Dragonbane, Dark Eye, Traveller or even Warhammer and Shadowrun feel way less weird. Hack even the rules are weird with Thac0 and percentile skills. D&D is deeply weird.
