Thanks big brother Hector, I just turned 62 and I recognized a majority of your collection because they're on my shelves. Your compilation of films reads like 42st marquees, on both sides of the street. On any given Saturday in '70's! Keep 'em coming bro! "Memories, like the corners of my mind..." I remember seeing that drummer from Taxi Driver on the street in Times Square every time I went there in '70's. He was an integral part of it! Come to think of it, so are we. I really dug The Thing prequel too! I remember seeing WAR OF GARGANTUAS on 40 Deuce in 1970. What an event that was for me. It was double featured with GODZILLA vs MONSTER! ✌️😎👍🌊👣☯️

My pleasure!! Always good to spark some cool memories of our movie going days back in the 70’s and 80’s, there was no era like it nor will ever be….it was the greatest!! You’re talking about the legendary Gene Palma, a staple of Times Square! Thanks for watching brother, I appreciate you! 🙏🌟🙏🌟

@@Urbankungfu61Okay cool ✌️😎👍 You're very welcome Hector. I never knew his name. Everything about those two films in particular TAXI DRIVER & THE THING made them great. I saw Taxi Driver in '76 on the duece and the The Thing when it premiered at the State and Lake in Downtown Chi-town. The music for both of them is absolutely classic as well as the films! We are sooooo alike brother. I love all those films on your shelf. I have them all as well. I remember on thanksgiving watching channel 9 wwor the king kong films then on some days they would give the godzilla films. I also remember the planet of the apes the 4:30 movie marathon on ABC. We had such appreciation for it then because we were limited to just a few channels. Now it's insane. On KZbin you got a godzilla 24hour marathon! Who would've thought that then? Blade Runner and John Carpenter's The Thing both came out the same year in 1982 and were critically and commercially massive flops back then. Now they are adored classics that critics and movie enthusiasts adore. I'm one of the fortunate ones that saw both films when they came out first day in 1982. I remember it well. Saw it on the duece. I love movies man. They are my escape from reality. Martial Arts, Samurai films, Zatoichi, Bruce Lee, Shaw Bros, Golden harvest, Bruceploitation , blackexploitation, I'm a man of all genres....but the 70s and 80s were the golden years for film, wrestling and even music back then. We grew up in an amazing era. At the cusp of pop culture classics.
@Urbankungfu612 ай бұрын
For sure!! Ahhh…the Deuce! It was like a magical kingdom for those that needed to (like you said) “escape” from the pains of reality for a little while! Our era was indeed the BEST era to have grown up in, we were treated to the best of the best that Hollywood, Hong Kong and Japan had to offer! Great times hermano, great times!!! Thank you for your input!! 🙏🌟🙏🌟

You my friend have excellent taste!! Almost every movie you named is a favorite (some I haven't seen). I love "The Thing" by John Carpenter & "Taxi Driver." My daughter watched this with me. She made me laugh when she said,"I don't care if it makes sense." LOL. (She loved Godzilla amongst your other movies) You must drink from the fountain of youth Hector. You don't look like you're a day over 50, if that. Yes, less is more, and you are as humble as your collection. Appreciate you sharing as always! God bless you & your family!! ~Sheila 🙏❤️🫶
