The world's oceans, covering more than 2/3rds of our planet, are filled with life of all sizes, and still remain vastly unexplored. Mariners of the past imagined a host of mystifying and terrifying creatures lurking in the dark depths. This program will discuss some of the most famous sea monsters in mythology and folklore, from the Kraken of Scandinavia, to the Isonade of Japan, to the Sirens of Greek mythology!
MYTHOLOGY HAS BEEN TOLD AND RETOLD IN MANY FORMS ACROSS TIME, STORIES AND ACCOUNTS MAY VARY.

The kraken was featured as one of the awakened Titans in the novel adaptation of Godzilla: King of the Monsters. And its real name is confirmed in the comic Godzilla: Dominion as Na Kika. And speaking of Leviathan, it was mentioned as one of the Titans awakened by King Ghidorah. It resides in Loch Ness, which implies that it is also the Loch Ness Monster. And Scylla was featured as a kaiju resembling a hybrid of a crab, a squid, an ammonite, and a spider that was previously contained in Sedona, Arizona.

So just a theory.. But when it comes to massive sea monsters existing to present day, the ocean is so big if any species were smart/sensitive enough to recognize motors/electronics there is just enough space they could forever avoid 'modern' human forever Perhaps when ships were just big wooden floats driven by wind, 'monsters' made human contact but learned/intuited that a few miles distance at all times is preferable now.. Obviously probably not, but I think most people vastly underestimate the oceans expanses, the possibility of massive subterranean spaces we have only begun to understand how to map.

Is that really true only 5% of the oceans were charted? Because I swear seeing somewhere that we basically explored everything. Advancement of technology has allowed this right? Shit man I don’t even know

It's more like "less than 10%", but true, as long as you mean examined with sonar when you say "charted". Most of the deep ocean is largely unknown.

We haven't even got the means to explore the depths of the oceans yet so there is no way we know what exists down there.

As far as the Bible is concerned I see nothing about a fire-breathing aquatic snake only a great dragon that is hurled down . If anyone has the scripture where Leviathan is described as a fire-breathing snake I would like to know it please.

The blue whale is bigger than any known animal ever to have existed so it feels lame that people would have to say there's something bigger. I know it's just storytelling but the lack of appreciation for a real life leviathan is kinda sad because there's a chance it'll be the biggest thing ever to have lived on this rock and we happened to coexist.

The channel is called Mythology for a reason. It doesn't mean they do not appreciate the living creatures that actually exist, they are exploring mythical creatures and the tales around them.

Eborah (the boulder slinging lobster) or Titanosaurus would be better suiting since they're pretty much 90% aquatic while Godzilla just leaves the ocean to trash Japan or save it and then go back in once he's done lmao

If Andromeda was an Ethopian Princess then she should really be depicted as a tall slim black lady (or mixed-race, if her Father was caucasian) rather than a fully caucasian lady with red hair. 🤔
