Been enjoying the 2024 heritage videos, I know practically nothing about baseball but was thinking of getting into the sport and cards (granted I'm from EU). Would you recommend getting either 1 monster and 1 hobby box or 3 monsters?

I’m a huge monster fan, hobby boxes are mostly giving out relics instead of autos. I think 3 monsters should get a couple decent blue sparkles and a chance at other variations too

@@westernnycards thanks for the reply, I was thinking along those lines aswell. You'd get 6+ blue sparkles and 6+ packs, though no guaranteed relic/auto. I'd love an on-card auto but will moat likely pick up 3 monsters. Love the white/black border cards.

Spacing on the back of that SP blue sparkle was upsetting. Is it weird that I would grade that hawk and put it on my shelf next to my graded Dawson collection? 😂

I pulled a Mackenzie Gore auto out of a update hanger I found behind my desk today 😂 I also ripped 2 blasters of heritage and pulled two base Elly's, 7 sp's and a white border that actually said white border on the back. The majority of the card edges look like they were cut with a bread knife 😂 I'm definitely only buying mega boxes if I decide to get more. I'm thinking I should just save my money for series 2 or maybe Bowman. What's your advice if I pull the trigger on Bowman as far as which format to look for? The last Bowman I bought was in the early nineties.

Nice on that Gore auto!! I like his potential. Yeah I’m noticing these edges this year are hit or miss which is typical for heritage. Honestly for bowman, I’m going retail. Blasters or retail display boxes. Last year the numbered cards and autos came out of retail at a decent rate so I’ll take my chances. Hobby prices are just so insane.

@@westernnycards yeah, I'm not paying over $500 for a jumbo hobby box. I appreciate your input and also really enjoy the way you run your channel. I'm debating starting one to help feed my addiction. My wife bribing me with cards to do build crap and yardwork and such for her is getting too expensive. I fall for it every damn time knowing immediately that these in fact are the worst trade deals possibly to ever occur

how would you store these cards? i just started and wondering how to store them. in a binder?

I store my cards in binders unless they are super valuable. Other people use like 500 count card boxes, really just depends on your preference!

My mega, the only one I have bought was solid. Closest you can get to a hobby......Goldy Real One auto...a relic of a no namer, blue Soto and Austin Riley and Buxton. White was also an sp low number. 6 sps, and nice little stack of good base. Rcs of Evan Carter, Jasson, and Cowser. Normally a Goldy is a troll for me, but a Real One made it much better. I was happy for once of a heritage buy.

How do you know if its SP or SSP?

Short prints are cards 1-100, SSP are only certain image variations, and they would say that above the card number on the back
