I am not. I'm honestly tired of these horrific individuals being glorified on screen. The people murdered and those who loved the victims NEVER get any sort of peace when these types of stories are glorified. It just seems like Ryan Murphy is obsessed with making deplorable individuals more palatable and thats not ok. Their crimes and what they did shouldn't be commodified for financial gain or desensitized for consumer consumption.

My Grandma met him at the hospital he was sent to after he committed these crimes, she said that he was mopping the floors and that they exchanged head nods and smiles as a greeting. She was still a little startled. I ask her about it often.

Ed gein, I believe is gonna be darker and more disturbed then Dahmer. I liked season 1 because it was dark and disturbed, remember Jeffrey is small time compared to Ed. Meaning his depravity Ed geins story is just extremely tragic, the mother constantly punishing his son for trying to make friends especially girls, the mother was extremely controlling, saying I'm the only one. His house, his chairs covers in human skin, bones, imagine the ost, the theme when you walk in his house, grim and black. Most likely episode 1 will depict his last murder, body upside down, gutted, camera following Ed to his house, seeing the darkness and depravity of it, the just like episode 2 of Dahmer we cut to his childhood. Ed gein/Charlie Hunnam is gonna be great. Edit Ed is suspicious if killing his brother, they were putting out a fire ed called the police and led them straight to him, the brother had suspicious bruises on his head, not related to the fire, but nothing came of it

@@dgentertainment4165 I think of the concept as "let's show the key life events of these notorious criminals in a way that leads people closer to the truth of what they were as people and how they got that way". And I think this used to be the domain of clinical and dry documentaries by specialised psychologists. It definitely makes for great viewing however as a dramatisation, and it's surprising it took 31 years after Dahmer's arrest and 34 years after the Menendez's arrest to finally tap into their stories like this.

Most of his “victims” were the result of grave digging and he only confirmed killed like 2 people. So it’s gonna be interesting to see how they’ll stretch the narrative to make it more interesting

Given that Ryan Murphy seems to like giving the killers in this show a sort of unofficial "theme song", Dahmer's being "Please Don't Go" by KC and The Sunshine Band, and the Menendez brothers' being "Girl I'm Gonna Miss You" by Milli Vanilli, I think it will be a huge missed opportunity if they don't use Slayer's "Dead Skin Mask" in this season.

Season 2 Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story was a dark comedy and much lighter, and for me less interesting, compared to Jeffrey Dahmer. Ed Gein wasn't like Dahmer at all For one he was a grave robber who only killed 2 people. I think the series will be more about his upbringing through the flashbacks showing his mother's domineering ways. He also had a brother who mysteriously died not too long before (or maybe it's after) their mother's death. They can easily showcase these flashbacks in between the 2 killings. Or they can start right off with Gein being captured and the trial. With his upbringing, the bodies he dug up and the murders being told as withess testimonies. I don't think it'll be like the Dahmer series. Maybe the tone as the only thing they had in common was their seclusion & alleged cannibalism.

As far as I know, there was only one movie made about Ed Gein and it was very low budget. I think this will make for a fascinating series, since so may movies Psycho and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre were based on Gein. The true crime book about this man was extremely creepy and disturbing.

Just so people don't get confused Buffalo Bill is the character based on Ed Gein in silence of the lambs not Hannibal Lector, Hannibal Lector was based on a mexican prisoner called Dr Salazar. He was a kind, charming doctor that treated people in the prison, that you would not think killed his partner and cut him up into pieces and dumped them.

I don't know about anyone else but I am excited for season 3 of Monster. I'm also hoping that one day in the future, we can get a Monster season of Bryan Kohberger who committed the murders of four University Idaho students. I think an in-depth analysis of that guy and the murderers being played out as well as the arrest and trial would be great to see. I think a good actor to play Bryan Kohberger could be Jake Gyllenhaal. That's just my preference because I see some similarities especially the way Jake Gyllenhaal looked in Nightcrawler. Anyways, these murders happened fairly recent so and the trial is set for June of 2025 i believe. I don't expect a season anytime soon. But I think it would be great to do one based on Bryan Kohberger.

I read that book about Ed Gein many many years ago. Horrific character. So excited waiting for the series. Love Ryan Murphy. My favorite so far was Racket. The old time costumes and colors and scenery were phenomenal.

Check out a move called Deranged. It came out in 1974, but it based on Ed Gein and it is one of the better movies made about him.

Ed Gein never killed anyone if i remember correctly. He dug up bodies and had a weird relationship with his mother and made normal everyday items out of bodies but he never actually murdered anyone. He did a lot of sick twisted stuff but all the bodies they found were of those that died from this or that but not murder. Watched a slew of docs on him
