That's sooo true about the newer washing machines! Mine is about 20 years old, and it works better and faster than any of the newer ones I have used when staying elsewhere. They take forever! Bring back the simpler designs.

its bc of water efficiency regulations (at least where i live). Manufacturers have been forced to decrease the amt of water used, which sounds great in theory but hasnt worked out so well. I have to use the "deep water" and double-rinse settings on each load to get things clean so i dont think i'm really using less water. Probably using more. I will forever mourn the loss of my old school washer
