He's not underrated. I've been splitting season tics to W's games since the Antawn Jamison draft. Monta was an exciting player to watch, a dynamic scorer who had an Iverson-like ability to take over a game at times ....but a team led by him will loose more games than win. The degree of difficulty of his shots were crazy and as exciting as it was when they went down he shoots in the low forties. He doesn't make guys around him better. The offense would break down into iso Monta with the other guys just watching way too often. When bigs don't get touches on O they don't play as hard on D, it's always been that way. He was a defensive liability couldn't guard quick PGs or bigger SGs. When they got Steph even though Monta was coming off his best season at almost 26 ppg they made the right choice on who to keep. I'm glad he's on Dallas where he's not the first option and found his niche.

Monta is so underrated. A lot of people say that we should trade either Monta or Stephen. I think we should keep both. I don't think our problem is anywhere near the guards. It's the big men.

Why isn't Monta Ellis on the All-Star team this year? Wtf is wrong with NBA? He took down Chris Paul and the Hornets, Deron Williams and the Jazz, Derrick Rose and the Bulls, and he's going to take down Rajon Rondo and the Celtics this coming Tuesday. He's making a statement that "you're missing out for not putting me in the all-star, I'm the most electrifying player in the league"

Whoever says he was a ballhog is just ignorant. On the Bucks he had no offensive support other than Jennings so he had to take a lot of the teams shots especially bad ones at the end of the shot clock and such

Whether Monta is better than D.Rose or not, the difference is that D.Rose is humble. I respect that of D.Rose. But I think D.Rose is still better because of his leadership, especially with his team, the Bulls. Monta Ellis dosen't have that. Look how the Bulls performed without D.Rose. It was a tough one, especially in the playoffs last year. Do you think Monta Ellis will be able to lead the Bulls to the playoffs? D.Rose is also the youngest MVP, so yeah. John Wall is a better comparison for me.

derrick rose is actually in the 2010-2011 season was the only player to be in the top 10 of both scoring and assists. He also carried his Chicago Bulls to team to have so many winning games during the regular season. Monta failed to do the same. His field go last season was also not that great. & the level of difficulty in SOME of Rose's shots are higher then what monta does. SOME.

Rose's passing is much better than Monta's...Any excellent penetrator with good vision is going to get his assists off drive-and-kicks, but Rose has the ability to run an offense. Monta doesn't consistently make the right decision on offense nor makes even the right pass all the time. On a team like Warriors with excellent shooters, it is not hard for a player like Monta to get his assists and that is not to mention that the Warriors have been w/o Curry for half the season.

@Vam999 Been stopped? Yeah, of course, but not much, if you watch the Warriors play (as I do a lot). I'm a fan, and all, but objectively I think he is about as unstoppable an OFFENSIVE player as there is in the NBA. They dont put midrange jumpers in the highlight reels, but his pullup J and 3 point shot are deadly, along with his ability to drive. Defense...well, that's another story

@enclosedfury, Rose has 24.9 ppg and Monta has 25.0 ppg. Monta has 5.4 assists per game, Rose has 8.1 assists per game. Remember, these guys are guards, Rose and Ellis are a mere 0.1 ppg apart in scoring, but Rose has 2.8 more assists per game than Ellis. But I am in no way stating that Ellis is a bad player or inferior to Rose, I'm just saying Rose technically does have better or equal stats to Monta in both scoring and assists. But Monta is a better shooter I will agree.

@derrickjamal34 Rose does not shoot a better %... Rose shoots 46% and Monta shoots 47%. Monta was above 50% until Curry got hurt and teams started double and triple teaming him. Hope you watched Ellis tonight. He put up 34 on 54% shooting with 6 assists. Ellis > Rose. Also who isn't an Ellis lover??? The guy is legit. Apparently you are too if you are looking up his videos. @derrickjamal34 Uhhh apparently the stats are lying to you... Ellis shoots a better field goal percentage, gets more steals, and doesn't turn the ball over as much. Honestly they are pretty similar stats wise but I still like Ellis better than Rose. Just like you said Ellis has to play more minutes than Rose because they have no one who is producing off the bench when either Ellis or Curry is out. I still think Rose is a good player... Ellis is just better.

@asieduy 48% shooting is really bad huh? He put's up 25 pts a night and dishes out 5 assists. Not to mention the steals and improved defense. Curry jacks up three's in transition all the time. I love Curry but he isn't on the same level as Monta. Ellis is probably the 2nd best player in the league. Everyone thought he was dumb for saying that last year but his play backs it up. Kobe, Lebron, DWade, and DRose are all less efficient.

And I know a phrase like "run an offense" is hackneyed, but it is true. Rose knows the nuances of his offense and, along with Thibs, has lead the Bulls offense to the near top of the charts. However, I'm not going to argue with you that Monta is unselfish. However, his passing game is nothing like a point guard's and to compare it to Rose's belittles what Rose does every game.

if u actually watched the nba u would know that rose isnt a 3pt shooter either. but if u wanna compare those two derrick rose best 3pt shooting season: 128-385 (33%). montas best 3pt shooting season: 137-379 (36%) so while neither are real deadly shooters montas is better between the two

rose and monta are basiclly the same except that rose has just a lil bit worse of a jumper... but rose's athletisism skyrockets over monta.. plus rose is more clutch... and roses crossover shits on monta too.... if they swithced teams rose would still do betteer then monta did (for golden state)

people say he's underrated, but i think he's a classic high scoring 2 guard in a point guard's body who will score plenty for several years, yet his team's success will be limited. In the long run, his mark will be insignificant.
