Placer deposits are not limited to surface gravels. Surface gravels are picked through pretty quick. There are lots of still undiscovered placer gravels as deep as 100 feet or more in ancient river beds that have since been covered over by eons of erosion. So there still may be shafts leading down to the deposits. Then there was also hydraulicking. This was a type of mining that was accomplished by shooting high pressure streams of water from spigots called Monitors which washed whole mountain sides away to release the deposits.

The other picture in mind is a similar structure but with a bit of lean with the prevailing wind so it looks like the wind caused the lean!! The roof will be corrugated tin colored with rust streaks. Inside will be all modern stuff including a duel-fuel wood stove and oven. The home I live in now was built in 1928. I am doing some drywall work which a bit challenging because it was not framed for drywall. But I know my stuff and looove my home and can make things work!! I truly enjoyed this video!! 😊

That was cool. I've read and heard many a tale about that crooked Sheriff. Including a few about his "lost" treasure. The money and gold that was never recovered. He had a pretty good system because when the mine(s) were going to ship their gold, they told the Sheriff so he'd be on the lookout. Took the miners a few years to figure it out. Then he met his end. Supposedly there is a lot of shipments that haven't been found and no record of the gold being spent. Would look suspicious spending gold you didn't mine. So he stashed some and no one knows where. Happy trails. Later...
@PinInTheAtlas9 ай бұрын
We heard similar stories Richard. He certainly was a con man in the worst possible way
@GhostCryProductions5 ай бұрын
His name was Henry Plummer and he ran an extortion racket with his deputies and a band outlaws. His gang was called the Road Agents who would conduct highway robberies using insider knowledge as sheriff to track scores of gold or money being transported through his jurisdiction. When robbery victims started getting killed, though, local county men took up arms, together known as the Vigilantes, to deal with Henry Plummer and his Road Agents personally. It took less than a year for Henry Plummer to go from being elected sheriff of Bannock to being hanged for his crimes.

Neat video and photography! Glad to see you both made it! The door opening by itself is always a bad thing in the horror movies! lol I moved into an old bungalow about 25 years ago and the bedroom closet door would open all on it's own at first. It was a bit distracting at times to be in the middle of lovemaking and have the door open and slowly creak its way to the wall! My old dog Sophie would just sit there and stare at that door at times. It eventually stopped happening though and I'm guessing that the ghost found something better to do!

Whether you visit Bannack or notice it here, you may think that the entirety of to town exists on one dirt road. This is actually what is left of the entire town. In an open grass field one can see the gallows about 300 yards from the main buildings. The gallows mark where the town square would’ve been. I don’t know if it would account for all the buildings the used to be there, the town suffered a mud slide that damaged or destroyed some of the buildings and required restoration work to undue the damage.
