Nice pack and review. I like them with lots of pockets so that I can get at things as I walk. I often cut the waist band off day sacks. I mostly buy them in sales for a tenner from Lidl and Aldi these days or occasionally from the very bottom of the range of Go Outdoor's. I switched from fabric stuff sacks to plastic bags where compression is not needed. I know we are supposed to despise plastic bags but they are actually a modern miracle - waterproof, lightweight, strong etc. Great channel, I must have a look at your other videos.

Thanks Simon. Appreciate your comments. There are deals to be had, but finding more and more that you get what you pay for generally now days. Try to keep costs down but sometimes spending a little more gets you something that lasts longer and does the job you need it for. Not always the case though......cheers.

@@FiftyandNifty I agree, more expensive kit is better made and will last longer. The cheap stuff though is often adequate, particularly if you do not need to carry large loads. Just like a spare bootlace I think some gaffer tape, button thread and a needle are often just as important to carry as a first aid kit. Don't laugh but a few years ago I had to field repair my fathers shoe on holiday with plastic bags for string because the sole of his shoe fell off. The repair lasted long enough to get him to a shoe shop. I do wish I had been carrying a couple of feet of string though along with the suntan stuff and headache and indigestion pills :-)

@@simontemplar404 The world can be mended with paracord and gaffer tape wrapped around an old block busters membership card I say........I always carry both just in case ! Just back from a wild camp trying out the new Montane sack and some other gear so will post when get a chance to edit. Cheers Simon.

Great looking pack. Water storage being it's only clear weakness - would be great if there was space in the front for that so it's easy to grab. Thought about pairing it with an omm chestpod too but that might be overkill, will see. Hows the comfort with the carry? I'll be doing about roughly 7-8kg as well, give or take. Those straps look a little thin though. Montane is doing well lately, their 60 liter pack which is under 1kg is also an impressive beast... Look forward to checking out more of your vids. Cheers!

Thanks Beast ! It's a nice bit of kit, BUT I have concluded more a day hike pack more than a wild camp one. Well made and pretty comfy, although the waist straps are a little thin for my liking. It does have space for water bladder but at the expense of space inside. I usually hang rubber Flexi water bottle on front loop for water which works fine. If you are looking for something to take base weight around 8/9 kg I would suggest you check out the Trailblazer 44. This will be my next buy as just has that extra room needed for a 1 or 2 night wild camp. It also has roll top. Cheers for watching !

Great review, Thanks. I love Montane gear and would buy this in a heartbeat, however, I wont as I think its badly let down by no side pockets for poles and nowhere to put water bottles. Shame.

Ah....well it has pole loops. One for under arm and one for strap to back of pack ! So no problem there. The Flexi pocket on back holds water if you want , but I use a bladder which has internal pocket. Saying that , better for single night summer camp to be fair ! Have a look at the size up ( 44L I think) as this would be my preferred choice. Still, this is a great kit bag !

@@FiftyandNifty Thanks for the reply. I didn't mean trekking poles, I mean the actual tent poles, I like to pack those separately in the Rucksack to help with space and weight distribution, that's when I use a large side pockets

@@stevew585 ah I see. I use a trekking pole tent so don't have that to worry about.

Hi thanks for a great review. I have got my eye on one of these back packs. It would be primarily used for day walks and not overnight wildcamping. Is this pack suitable for this or will it be too big. I carry the normal waterproofs, water; 1st aid, [ all x 2 as its for me and my wife. This pack gets good reviews everywhere and until i can get to see one in the flesh was wondering if it would be to big.

Hi Steven. As a day pack (for 1 or 2 people) I would definitely recommend it. Plenty of room, but can tighten straps up if you don't fill it up also ! Only down side is that they don't come with a rain cover. Try #gooutdoors as they do stock them and I think it's always important to actually see and try a pack on for real as everyone likes different things. You can then have a look online to get best price !! Cheers and happy hiking !

Hi, is it better than Salomon Out Night 30+5 ?
@FiftyandNifty

Hi Daniele. I've not tried that one so can not compare. The trailblazer is a very good bag but really only for day hike/run or wild camping with very minimal and ultra light kit. Anything more than a single over night camp and I would be wanting 45lt + really. Cheers.
