Thank you very much for a wonderful video. Your pen is beautiful. I have three of these 221P in both black and burgundy. They are magnificent writers.

Thank you for uploading this. A really nice pen in the burgundy - I own a black 221 with an M nib, which is a great design for everyday writing. It still works perfectly.

Ce culoare frumoasă! Modelul 221 e primul montblanc din colecția mea (varianta neagră) :)

I had a black 221 with an EF nib that I traded for a Parker 75 Sterling Silver Cisele, and now I got myself a burgundy 221 with an oblique F nib, which writes much nicer! It's a very nice pen that looks absolutely stunning.

Floris Jaaltink, can you tell the difference between a F nib and an OF nib? I think you did a fair trade because the Parker 75 Sterling Cisele is an iconic fountain pen.
@florisjaaltink34554 жыл бұрын
@@ThePenCollectorBogdan an F nib is the standard fine nib, but an OF nib is ground sideways meaning that one tine is longer than the other. This results in a slanted line when writing, which can make your handwriting look more fancy. See this image for more information: nibsmith.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/oblique-nib-profile.jpg

I wasn't going to click on this video, as I'm not interested in Montblanc pens. However, the colour caught my eye, and so I watched.

Thank you! I hope you liked my review. I like the colored celluloid fountain pens but my favorite ones are the sober black with gold trims. If you want to know what is my favorite Montblanc black classic early 1950's celluiloid beauty, I recomand that you see this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j4fHhmOXg9eqd9E

Thanks for review. After seeing this I understood how actually ugly this specific model with cartridge and this colour is. Good that I looked here before buying!

Hi, quick question: I noticed some of these pens have slightly different nib - with Montblanc logo and 14 k & 585 engravings. Other than that, they look identical to yours. Is it a different model or just a variation? What's more interesting, some of them have dedications from late '80s, while 221p, as you said, was manufactured before 1979. Can you shed some light on it?

You are right, Diedra Fritzges! I also have reviews with the Montblanc 320 and Montblanc Classic and you will see: the Montblanc logo, 14K and 585 engravings on their nibs. It is difficult to tell because it could be the same model that was manufactured for several years and there is a posibility that MB used different engravings for each year of production. But I don't think so because when you modiffy the engraving on a nib, the production cost raises. In my opinion they are different models. The nibs that have dedications on them are unknown to me. Maybe you can find some information on the Fountain Pen Network. I am sorry but I don't want to response with false information! ☹

@@ThePenCollectorBogdan I should have been more precise - the pens and not their nibs have dedications engraved :) I'm also inclined to think they are different models and hope to find confirmation (and possibly a model number) - some day, somewhere :) Thanks for your response!

@@May-hr7oq no problem! I love when I find in the wild a fountain pen with a dedication or a name personalised on the cap. I think it adds character to the piece and sometimes a name can tell us a beautiful story about the previous life of the pen. 🙂 I am just a dreamer fascinated by old fountain pens and their history! Thank you for visiting my channel! 🙂

Would this pen take montblanc converters?
@ThePenCollectorBogdan4 жыл бұрын
I don't own modern Montblanc ink cartridges or converters but it does hold simple international size ink cartridges or converters. I hope my answer is helpful to you.
