Hi Iakku, we made this akklimatisation tour in August to climb "Mount Elbrus" one week later. We did not use a guide. The terraine is easy, nearly no technical knowledge, but the mountains are high. We drove by car from Innsbruck to "Alagna Valsesia" slept in the village, and picked the first gondel to Punto Indren @ 07.30. From there we walked to Rifugio Gnifetti, and further to Capanna Regina Margherita (12.30). As an Info besides, in one day it´s pretty much altidude. I would recommend, to take a later gondel, walk from Punto Indren to Rifugio Gnifetti in 2 hours, sleep there. On the next day you could walk up to Capanna Regina Margherita, sleep there once more, or you make all the summits i posted and go back to the Punto Indren. Some time and weather Management and you are save. Have a nice trip!!!

***** Hi Iakku, we did not have to reservate, BUT the weather was not that good, so we were only 4 People on the capanna regina margherita. But they told us, that it can get crowdy if the weather is good for sure, particluarly in August around "ferra agosto" (Italia Holidays). Good luck

+Jean Pain Powder -->Jean again ;-). Yes the view is awsome, one of the best i´ve seen so far. and besides that, with good weather and good aclimatised, the refuge is pretty easy to reach (no technical difficulties but crevasses)

Very nice to see it on video. We've made the same trip but added some extra summits. We started the tour in Staffal and went up tot the Rifugio Sella. The next day we went up to Castor and Pollux and descended over the glacier to the Monte Rosa hut. In the early morning (day 3) we went up to glacier to arrive at the Margarita hut where we spended the nigt. On day 4: the Zumsteinspitze, Ludwigshohe and down to Gnifetti. The last day: from Gnifetti hut up to the Vincent Pyramyd and the Balmenhorn. I would highly recommend it to everyone exept the glacier traverse from Castor and Pollux tot the Monte Rose hut. There where no tracks and the descent is tricky... What would you recommend me Kunzi? I would like to do more (with a guide, same difficulty level) next summer before my asscent of the Mont Blanc.

Hi Bert, I love the following link to get Information to 4000er summits in the alps (all of them),... in the link I already selected the summits declining from most climbed to less climbed summits. I think this chronology goes along with the difficulty, means the easier the sumit the more climbed. so have a look at this side and you will for sure find the right summit before Mont Blanc, good luck!!!!!

+Mauro Scussolini, danke, ja ist eine geile tour und eine echt interessante hütte. ich hab auch 2 mal gebraucht bis ich da oben war, einmal haben wir es eben vom tal mit zelt probiert, und nach 1900 hm am ersten tag mit 20kg gepäck waren wir zu ko. deshalb 2. versuch mit bahn das ist dann gut gegangen. Also viel glück

Would it be possible to climb uo to Capanna Margherita from Zermatt and to sleep there? I mean there are nearly no acclimatisation possibilities on the way

You can start from klein Matterhorn via Castor and Lyskamm to the Margherita hut. its called the Spaghetti rout. you can get there in one day

+Mauro Scussolini, ja wenn ihr nicht zuvor ein, zwei 4 tausender gemacht habt dann würd ich das schon empfehelen. ich hatte 4000er zuvor gemacht, bin dann in einem zug mit hilfe der bahn und zu fuß zur hütte und konnte die ganze nacht nicht 1 sec. schlafen. puls 120, wie lange die hütte offen hat? ich denke ja mitte september kann sein, ich weiss es aber nicht, einfach mal anrufen

Ja, letztes Jahr sind parallel zu uns ein Pärchen mit den Skiern aufgestiegen, anschnallen konnten sie bereits unterhalb der Gnifetti Hütte also ca. 1h, 11/2h tragen. derzeit wird's vielleicht schon noch früher gehen bei dem Sommer und dem derzeitigen Wetter...

che centra la località? il video avrebbe potuto essere interessante peccato la pessima abitudine ormai diffusissima di usare le action cam che riprendono in grandangolo, anche quando non servono a nulla.
