Sportscaster!! Thank you!! I’ve never understood how refraining from praise could work for me until now. Great tips!

My other tip is to make sure your art area is on tile, hardwood floor, or you have a mat/drop cloth underneath if you're on carpet. Wiping up paint and sweeping up dropped Play-Doh is SO much easier on a smooth, hard surface.

Yes! I love the “role of observer” comment. Love love love. So wise! You’re my hero. I love these videos so much.

Being an active observer really does make a difference in their level of concentration on what they're doing, too. :) Glad you like watching these, I enjoy making them and sharing these ideas!

I live in a country where Montessori is considered to be a way to raise a child to be excel, which was why I didn't like to be involved. I don't know how I found your channel but it certainly brought a different perspective of raising a baby in Montessori way and we're changing not only our home but also our minds for it. Thank you so much. All your contents are so helpful.

Thank you for posting this!!!! My husband and I are starting a family this year and I didn’t really know about Montessori teachings but the way I wanted to teach turns out to be very much what Montessori teachings are!! I’m super excited! I’m going to read all the books you mentioned in your other video!! Thanks again!!

I have wonderful memories of my mother letting me help her cook homemade play dough and color it with food coloring. So many colors you can make. Really awesome advice about sports casting, I love the idea of my child being creative for their own pleasure and satisfaction rather than the praise of others.

@6:31 for me is the most important advice EVER and EVER AGAIN. (Thanks for pointing that out again so clearly! 🥰) I have to stick more to not commenting on my toddlers achievements or progresses to avoid giving her the feeling she is just pleasing me instead of developing her own creativity. 👍🏻

They really are so creative, even as toddlers. My daughter doesn't do a lot with the stickers just yet, other than stick them all over the paper, haha! But once she does start doing more with them, I can certainly show you guys! :)

Yes! So excited to see this. I'm really enjoying this series. I'm already trying Ezra with non toxic crayons to try holding and he loves it (we're working on not eating them) 😂 I love Kylie's art supply holder, so sweet. Thank you for sharing! Some wonderful ideas here.
@HapaFamily

Kylie didn’t really take to the concept of purposefully scribbling on paper with crayons until about 14-15 months (I think). So Ezra definitely still has time!! 😊

Ashley, I hope you see this and can help me because I can't find it, since I can't remember what video ypu mentioned it in. You once showed a art thingy that was like a screen and could be reset at the press of a button or something like that. Like instead of paper. What was it called?

Thank you for your videos! I’m FTM of an almost 3 month old and have a question on praise. When is it appropriate to praise my child? For example she just managed to hold her head at a 90 deg angle and I was so excited I was saying great job to her. Was that appropriate?

I I have tried this so many times with my son (23 months)in his room, by placing a small basket with one coloring book and four different colored crayons. Still any opportunity ,he draws on the walls ...we always make him wipe it away and thankfully it’s not permanent but how many times do you go through the same thing before removing the activity?! I’m tired of it! Lol.

What is your advice for keeping the area like you have organized with more that one kid? I have two kids, 3.5 yo son and 15 months girl. I am struggling on keeping the M activities for both in the same space. Thank you!

Can you also say how you teach them to stick to the table and no where else? My son is 11 month and seems uncontrolable and does not follow any rules. Is it early or I dont know how to teach him? I appreciate your help
@HapaFamily
@HapaFamily 5 жыл бұрын
Same as my other answer - if they take things away from the table, redirect back to the table and remind them of the rule, and if they ignore you or repeat the action, take it away.

When my 3.5 yo shows me something he made, would it be "Montessori" approiate to say, "Tell me about it"?
@HapaFamily
@HapaFamily 5 жыл бұрын
If your child wants to show you something that they made, it would be totally acceptable to ask something along the lines of “Do you want to tell me about it?” as opposed to requesting that they tell you about it. This way, you’re leaving it up to the child whether or not they want to share. Sometimes they may want to, other times they may not. Hope that helps! 😊

Does your daughter ever ask if you like something she’s made? In this case what do you say?
@HapaFamily
@HapaFamily 5 жыл бұрын
She’ll just show me most of the time, and I always reply with an observation of her work, “I see you used a lot of blue on this part!” And I try to remember to ask her if she’s proud of it. I want her to be intrinsically motivated and proud of herself, not always looking to me for external validation. So she doesn’t expect me to say that I like it, and therefore she doesn’t really ask me if I do. With that said, I suppose that may change as she gets older, but for now, this is my experience. :)
