Love seeing new videos, and you look beautiful! Shouldn’t the first time the child starts to record be when they do the stamp game after doing collective exercises with the golden bead? In the AMI we have an exercise where we build different numbers using the large rods. Where exactly does this work fit in along the math progression? Seems if they’re ready for this then they may as well do snake game and strip boards? Thanks

Thank you so much for your kind words, Ms. Delphine ! I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. In our curriculum, recording usually starts after operations with the boards, with the Stamp Game coming later in the sequence. This first step towards recording is crucial as it bridges the concrete to the abstract, helping the child internalize mathematical concepts. The exercise with the large number rods is an early math activity that helps solidify the understanding of quantity and numerical order. It fits into the progression after the child is familiar with the basic concept of numbers and before moving on to more complex operations like addition and subtraction with the Golden Beads. If a child is ready for the addition with small number rods, they may indeed be ready for the Snake Game and Strip Boards, as these activities also reinforce addition and subtraction concepts but in different, more abstract ways. The key is to observe the child and ensure they're comfortable and confident with each step before moving on. Every child’s progression is unique, and Montessori allows flexibility to meet them where they are. Thanks again for your thoughtful questions!

Hello ma'am, what is the different between small number rods and the big one? Thank you

The children learn counting with the Number Rods and then they use the small Number Rods to learn about addition and subtraction
