This song is my brother. He battled addiction for nearly 20 years and then he got clean and sober and was doing great. He was working so hard in being a “better me”. At the end of the day he was a better man. We lost him on Fathers Day to a massive heart attack. Years of abuse had weakened his heart but he had the biggest heart of anyone I’ve ever known.

Hey fans that loved troy, he knows we love him very much. he was a great friend and a great guy to get to know. I first met troy and Eddie thru my mom when I was 19 before they went famous and I have a home video and picture of troy performing at a bad I used to hang out in at nicholasville ky. I met him a day after my wreck and when mom told him who I was and told him I was in a wreck and he told me that God was with me... Than about 4 years ago mom passed away and his wife angie called me and my family and told me she was sorry and that troy will call me sometime. cause him and mom was very close. But to you fans heaven didn't gain one country legend that gained 2. Remember you all troy loved all of his fans. keep him in your heart's and the music him and Eddie sung.. His Bless

My wife died 2 years ago tomorrow from cancer which came out of nowhere. She inspired me to be a better man. I don't know if I will meet another woman. God willing I will but if that's not his plan then I'm okay with that. But I am a "better me" because of her.

I have had tears over this since Troy passed. I got the pleasure of entertaining with Troy for three years at Renfro Valley and at Austin City where Jack Goble did everything he could to make all of guys feel like stars even if we wasnt. John Micheal Montgomey, Eddie, and Troy basicly, gave Lexington,KY Austin City Saloon the best place to go and hear incredible music. Troy and those guys would always share the stage with me no matter where they were. I'll never forget you my friend and I send my prayers for your family and friends. Thanks for always making me feel like a star. Your Brother in Christ, Tony Martin.

Will always be so hard to move on for again reasons I wish I could explain but it wouldn't do any good now but something I have to live with "knowing" (though didn't know exactly at the time). Won't stop me from listening to the old stuff and always support Eddie & the band and the family- whom my heart will always break for. I post one song (lyrics and at least youtube video) a month on the anniversary date of his death and today marks 4 months :O ;( :( but I feel that maybe somehow this will help lead to whatever I'm looking for. Stay strong family, band family, friends and fans and so many more.
