2 bedroom apartment for 850 would be 40-50 year old, with no in suite laundry plus electricity and internet. All inclusive basement suites are about 900 with everything all inclusive which is huge especially when you’re new. Atleast in Regina.
@gulatifamilyincanada3184 жыл бұрын
Hello bob, Thanks for watching our video. The intent of the video is to help new immigrants save money, and we have lived in an apartment for years without the in suite laundry and paid $800 as rent. So again its the personal preference and priority. If you want to save you will have to sacrifice some comforts. If you got money sky is the limit. Thanks for your support. Dear Gulati family, All your videos are very informative specially for new comers or people planning to come to Saskatoon. Due to inflation in last two year I really believe that you should make new video on this topic with updated information to give an idea of current monthly expenses. It will be a great help for people like me who are planning to come to Saskatoon in 2023. I hope you would consider my request. May Allah bless your lovely family.

Newcomer can use bank statements to show the proof of funds, and you can get an apartment. My friend came couple years ago and he got a apartment. The property management companies just see your bank statement and make sure you have 2 or 3 months of rent as balance and you should be good.

Interesting video. I think you may be underestimating some of your expenses. Your estimated electricity, mobile phone, and food costs are definitely on the low side. The cost of fresh vegetables and fruit in the winter are always higher than during summer months. Eating fast food takeout may be cheap but good Indian takeout for two costs us around $50. Don't land here in the winter or you will have immediate expenses for winter clothing like boots, mitts and warm coats. Welcome to Saskatoon!
@gulatifamilyincanada3184 жыл бұрын
Hello and thank you so much for watching our video and for your feedback on this. All the expenses we mentioned are closest to the exact amounts we spent. If you have your own cell phone (without contract), the cheapest plan is $30 for 2 gb data and you can go for $50 a month for 4 or 6 GB, thats what the current rates are with Lucky mobile, Koodo or Virgin. Our electricity bill now when we live in a bunglow style house is $110 - $120 a month and in an apartment it used to be $50 a month averaged out for the year. Food cost is totally dependent on family's size and eating habits. We never take out indian food from out, because thats what we cook at home so no need to spend there.
@Gary_and_Linda4 жыл бұрын
@@gulatifamilyincanada318 We have to get Indian takeout occasionally to find new dishes. We're getting better making Indian meals at home too. We love Indian food, at least the things we have tried so far.
