The father of the two boys just got a clean bill of health but has been fighting Cancer for some time. She takes the boys down to visit him and she was helping take care of him every couple of weeks. I’m not sure about the girls Dad but she has a good relationship with the boys father and the trailer she just moved into was his. I believe she bought it from him when he needed to move to Florida for treatment.

I have a tip for putting meat into ziplocks, fold the top over. It’s makes a wide opening and no meat touches the zipper. That was an awesome haul, nicely stocked up & for a pretty good price as well. 🦋

🦋 Kelly, for food storage, I would strongly recommend a FoodSaver or a Zwilling Fresh & Save system, both are amazing at keeping fruits/veg fresher longer and for repackaging raw meats to serving sizes and freezing as the store package is very porous and accelerates freezer burn and deterioration even in the freezer. We invested in the FoodSaver about 11 years ago and have no regrets and this year, after saving for a year, we bought the Zwilling kit and now we put aside $ to buy more containers and bags- my husband loves the Zwilling set! One of the cost savings we found was grating our cheese from the block cheese- the quality of taste and texture is so much better than the shredded bags one buys. We found out that with the shredded cheese from the store, it uses corn starch and cellulose to keep the shredded cheese from clumping together plus the preservatives in it because the bag shredded cheese tends to mold faster than a block does- so we shred as needed and then use a vacuum seal bag to keep the opened block cheese in. The Kinder’s seasonings are the bomb and well worth the $$, we have all of them now, and the Lemon Pepper, as soon as you open it you SMELL the lemon and it’s delicious! Kelly, just a suggestion here. Maybe invest in a vacuum sealer for your meats and frozen vegetables. Recently bought one at Walmart. It was the $59 one plus some bags. It's just me and my son now, but I can buy bigger packages of meats and veggies and make smaller portions(like 4 pork chops in a bag). I was doing that, but just wrapping in plastic wrap and putting in freezer bags. But, lots of time ended up throwing out cause it was freezer burned cause with just the 2 of us and I work usually 2 or 3 pm till 10 pm at my local Walmart so don't cook much. Also, I bought bigger bags of frozen veggies and made smaller portion bags. Anyway, just a suggestion that might save you some money.

I get the ground beef roll but I split it and season half for burgers patty them out and freeze them. The other half I season with a basic seasoning mix and brown it then I divide it up and freeze. When I need browned ground beef for a recipe I have it ready to go and other than salt I season it how it's needed.

I have been storing my meat in recent months in silicone bags and I’m finding that they don’t get as much freezer burn on them that way, and they are reusable, which is better on your pocketbook and on the environment.

That was a lot of putting away, the thing I hate most about getting groceries. I'm just one but I do cook and buy things on sale for the freezer and that is probably the thing I hate the most is putting it away because of dividing and bagging everything. I have a fraction of what you have to put away so you are super mom. Loved the video, always do! 🦋

If you use vinegar and baking soda it will scrub your fruit gently for you. I grow a market garden and that’s what I do with great results.

Walmart carries the Bimbo bread. I had to laugh when I saw it. What an odd brand name. Agree it’s is scary spending so much money at once. But that has to feel so good knowing you have plenty of food for your family.

It is a Texas brand. The original name was Mrs. Baird (a real woman) when they sold in the last few years they sold to a Mexican company and they changed the name to Bimbo. I don't know what it means in English.

In Spanish, white bread is often referred to as pan (bread) bimbo (white - in relation to bread, not the color, if that makes sense. 😊

They wanted something that appealed to children and some wanted to call it pan (which means bread) bingo and others wanted to call it pan Bambi so they combined the 2. The brands little mascot is a bear that we call el oso 🐻 bimbo. Oso Bimbo is very popular in Mexico and other Latin countries. To us oso Bimbo is kinda like the Pillsbury doughboy

I’d like to add that sometimes Sam’s offers $25 memberships for the first year!! That way if you decide that you don’t like it or don’t use it, it doesn’t cost a ton and you can cancel before it renews :)!

I just use glass mason jars for fruit (with a paper towel inside) - it seems to last a while in them! I buy the plastic screw top lids for the jars because I don’t care for the metal ones as they tend to rust.

Oh My God, the minute you mentioned honeybuns from the Duchess brand. That is my favs brand if I’m craving a honeybuns. I love them and Mrs Freshley’s for honeybuns. Little Debbie for oatmeal creme pies.
