Lord, I admit I am a sinner. I need and want Your forgiveness. Something that has helped me when hearing God is the three voice rule. The first thing you hear is usually God, the second voice where you think "he didnt really say that" is usually Satan. And the third voice is you where you start to think, "these are my own thoughts" and where you begin to overthink about what you heard.
