This video is further evidence of the challenge Chinese brands continue to face when trying to expand to the American market. And understandably so for assurance sake. It seems folks are probably willing to pay extra from well-known brands than take the leap overseas. Monton is extremely popular in Asia obviously because of proximity. Just like with all of my Chinese bike builds...if you are on a budget, willing to do the research, and can handle some of the quirks...Monton can't be beat. More options in the marketplace can only mean a good thing for prospect customers.

Yoooo Pat! Love your content and had an interest in cycling for years now. Finally got a trek domane sl5 and cant wait to get out there. I live in NJ so the climate is similar to the Chi. I think i need some help getting a cold weather kit together as the more research i do, the more confusing it becomes. Curious how you got started and some ideas on basics to get me out on the road until it warms up. Got into Monton Kits back in 2017 and concur on the min spend to get the DHL shipping. (Its worth it). In terms of quality, having worn Monton, La Passione, MAAP and Rapha, the difference in quality and longevity between Monton and La Passione is noticeable, but even more when you get at the top end. They are great value and very cool designs. A MAAP kit is almost three times that of Monton, but the ride feel and quality difference is not three times better. Sizing, if you follow Monton's EU sizing with say what you wear in Castelli, then you will be fine. Nice one Patrick. Looking good !

This kit looks pretty good, so will check them out. Always hard to find kits which look good and aren't too expensive. But where to start! Don't want to spend $300 on some bibs etc so the top tier is out!

@@rickiwynne4785 Basically what I do is I take my chest measurement (in centimeters) and subtract 8-10cm to determine which size. And If I'm between sizes regarding weight, I take the smaller size. Just know that the size guide is in "Asia" size, not EU

Hi Patrick… I get my kit from Sikoro I believe they’re from Italy. Their pricing is comparable or a little less. The quality,durability and the design I like too. ​@@jessemartinez6120 Awesome.Yeah we have to get your sizing right because I believe the customer is on the hook for shipping fees for incorrect sizing, rather than manufacturer defects. Based on their sizing guide (which you should triple check) I suggest taking a size EU XL which is an Asia XXL. Should be an aero fit for you!

I love the fabric, cut (fit) and price of Monton but I can’t deal with their loud designs. They look ‘tacky’ Anyway, I have a custom club jersey from Monton and they are actually brilliant for the price and since it was custom designed, we didn’t have to deal with their stock tacky designs. All in all, Monton please drop your loud branding and tacky word / sentence like “MONDAY” , “TUESDAY”, “SEASONS CHANGE” 💀

Thanks for the code Patrick. I placed an order for a Monton bib size US Small ship to USA. They charged my credit card. Got an email back from Monton asking if they can replace the bib with another style. I said no I don't want another style, and if they don't have it in stock, why charge my credit card? A week later, after my second request to cancel the order, they only partially refunded me, they said it's handling fee/credit card merchant fee. This perplexed me because merchant fees are charged to the merchant by the cc companies. It's the cost of doing business as a retailer. As a retailer, you eat that cost, it should never be passed on to the customer. Also if they don't have certain sizes in stock, why are the sizes in the drop down box available and not disabled? And why charge my credit card when they don't have it in stock? Monton really rub me the wrong way as a first time customer. Just an FYI. They have bad business practices, therefore I have reservations for doing business with Monton. -Ray

Pretty big ask to meet a $188 minimum for reasonable shipping since cycling kit fit is so subjectively personally. Especially because the buyer is responsible for return shipping, which USPS estimates at $70. It's a shame because I like the vibe and Monton states they use an Elastic Interface chamois, which is what I have found works very well for me.

If you order from Monton and it doesn't work, you're out the cost or you're paying significant shipping costs back to Shenzhen. I also don't own any Rapha/Walmart cycling kit, but their policies are more reasonable for the consumer, in my opinion.

Serious question: Can they make bibs with independent sizing for waist and legs? Just got a really nice kit from another brand. Medium fits my waist but suffocate my quads. Large fits the quads and loose around the hips. Real struggle

I got from them a Monton skull jersey in EuroS and is fine even though very tight, but I can tolerate that. Not sure on the bibs... I like them right, well compressing, but not overly tight. Assuming you wear usually wear the same in both bibs and jersey, I'd say order a Euro M if the Euro S in their jersey is a bit too tight! I weigh 163lbs and the Euro M is just fine.

Hahahaha! Haven't tried Rapha so can't really comment. I own dhb, LeCol, Pactimo, and Bontrager. Monton is just as good. Also Monton's selection and variety is far superior to Souke. And Monton uses better performance fabrics in my own experiences.
