Montreal City Lights Time Lapse

In July 2018 I spent a night in Montreal in a hotel with a view! So, I set up my cameras, turned out the lights, ordered a pizza and shot time-lapse photos all night.

Really nice work on the video. what lenses would you recommend for someone on a budget. I could probably only swing one maybe two I want to use them for wildlife photography, low light photography and pet photography any suggestions would be appreciated thank you

That’s a tough question. It depends a bit on the type of wildlife photography you are doing and how far / how small your subjects are. I use my 100-400mm a lot for my wildlife. I also use my 70-200 2.8. Both are fantastic lenses. Check out Sigma’s lineup. Their Art series is amazing and quite a bit cheaper than Canon/Nikon if you are in a budget.

@@ChadBarry thank you for getting back with me I want to keep a wide range of subjects if possible I am not exactly sure what type of wildlife I'll be shooting. Really I want an all-in-one lens if possible. And it's not just for wildlife it would have to be for low light as well and pet photography and I forgot to mention I would also like to shooting landscapes I know that's a lot but I want to be able to shoot in many different situations. I have the added difficulty of being in a powerchair so any lens I get has to be somewhat lightweight for me to shoot while driving my chair thanks again any feedback would be appreciated

Unfortunately, no ONE lens will likely meet all your requirements. If low light is very important to you try to find a lens that’s f/2.8 or better, but this is going to cost more. I shoot a lot of landscapes at 200mm or more but also shoot a lot at wide angles like 16 and 24mm. You won’t find a lens that will meet will give you both wide and narrow, that’s low light and light weight. You’ll need a least two lenses, if not 3 or 4. If you’re budget is limited and you’re not quite sure what your most frequent subject matter will be, you may want to start will good “walk around” lens like a 24-105. It’ll cover landscapes and portraits/pets for you and some wildlife.

@@ChadBarry okay thanks so much for your help pointing me in the right direction I'm going to try to stick to two lenses I was looking at the Sony A7 which is in my price range for a body and now that I know thanks to your recommendations what I should be looking at that I feel more confident🙂
