I'm the young lad running the engine while switching at Drummondville. Have a lot more grey but i'm still running Engines for CP. The east end out of Farnham were some of my best times on the railway. Brings a smile to my face to watch the Alc's smoking up and down the Sherbrooke and Newport subs. Thanks!

Brian Sorel Hi Brian! That was great day. Thanks for the ride! I'm a bit grey now, too! Remember the greasy cheesburgers? I think we might have messed up your real lunch plans for the day....OOPS!

Fantastic stuff, Tim! It's a shame I was too young to have captured this footage myself. Gotta love the chug of the 251, as well as all of those sweet sounding M3H air horns. Well done!

I’m working on a film about the Quebec Central/Sartigan Railway, could I use a couple of these clips in my production, with proper credit given?

The owner of the footage is DH7409 on YT. Check with him or I can ask him. Let me know. If he doesn't mind, then I don't. Please credit my channel as well as his. Thanks for checking!

Awful 80s Porno music at the beginning !!! Lol Thanks for this, I bought your two Montreal's Machines videos this summer 2019' : ) I live in NH and Railfanned the CP many times over the years in first on B&M Pool trains on the Conn. River line and into East Dearfield and south, then in Vermont, NY, Maine, Hamilton, Toronto area, Sherbrooke and Montreal from 1976' through the 1990s chasing MLWs !! : )

The Chessie engines were being leased by CP Rail. I saw a bunch of them when I took the Canadian from Montreal to Vancouver in 1987.

Some Chessie System / B&O GP40's in there too....odd to see mixed with CP MLW's in Canada.

If not for the massive parts shortage with MLW going out, I bet the fate of these beauties would be the same as the sd40-2s, some retirements, but the majority would be still around.
@gregrowe11689 жыл бұрын
Those Alcos sure have a unique sound. They were quite the workhorses in their day. It is a shame that most of them have long been scrapped while you still see many SD40-2's still in service.
@francoisd69429 жыл бұрын
+Greg Rowe Because Alcos were pieces of shit, always broken. EMD were more reliable. When GE took Alco over they developed their own engine , they shut down the Montréal plant and scraped all the parts there
