Such a musical genius!! He's done so much for the business and most people don't know it. That "All Eyez On Me" album has his name all over it in the credits under his real name: David Blake. A lot of people don't know that. The smoothest funkiest fly musical producer/rapper/engineer/DJ to ever rep the West Coast. This guy can mix jazz, gangsta rap and G-Funk all in one and make into a diamond piece. The smoothest muthafucka from the west. And put him and Suga Free together.....ha....forget about it!! It's like putting Nate Dogg & Warren G together, perfection. Much love and props for this great interview!!!! Thank you!!!

I can't believe how hard I been sleeping on this man! im familiar with all the west coast artist from NWA to domino to snoop but I can't believe I never knew about quik. I was raised in the 90s I loved the sound and still do!!! I was exposed by many genres of music and many artist back then. I was just randomly browsing on the web and his compton alumni video pops up! I'm like who is this dude? He reminded me of myself from his personality to the way he thinks. I'm also left handed and often missunderstood. I done my homework on his career and music and was instantly speechless. The music really lives in him and he really cares about it. Back then I'm pretty sure he was raised around 70s and 80s music and when the 90s hit he didn't want the 70and80s music to die away so for him to put motown funk and r&b and also jazz into the 90s mix to come up with his own sound that nobody has ever heard before that was classy and unique to me. I love music but I have never been so inspired when I listen to classic albums like rythmnalism and book of david which are my favorite two albums. He sound is clear its loud you can hear every instrument very relaxing very authentic rather he is making a fun record or personel record. I'm glad I finally caught on sooner then never lol I'm honored to have gotten to experience this wonderful musician. And he is so very humbled down to earth a sweetheart! But what a class act his style is on point his hair and after all these years he still looks young at 45 yrs old. Would love to meet him one day. He is not only a musician but very seasoned in this industry. He has the knowledge the skills to not only make music but the way he breaks everything down from the instruments to the devices and equippment he uses! He such a genuis. Its very sad how much he has helped a lot of people and he doesn't get credit. A lot of songs I ben listening to my whole life I didn't know he was apart of or made happen. I can go on and on lol thru the many ups and downs he has been thru from his personal life to the music industry he still party put on incredible performances. He cares about quality good music that today has really fading out!! The music today has really changed I can jell with it but music itsnt about clubbing and 808s all day. Where's the passion the substance the meaning? The house party get together groove music. I'm 25 and I know music from bonnie tyler to the bettles to michael to ice cube to luther vandross marvin gaye to bowwwow. These kids today only know one genre and only four major artist. Its sad where music is going! Quik said everything is going digital now and soon or later its going to crash!!! I believe him he has been right so far!!! I love you david blake you help me thru a lot. I liten to you evey night literally the only way I can sleep. Thank you for this interview!!! By far the best I've ever seen him do. You brought the best out of him. He is so humbled very down to earth such a sweetheart!!! He not scared to be himself and tell the truth. I thought that was reall nice what he stated about suge knight!
