Denny Carmassi !!! Met him in his Heart days when I was playing in a club in a hotel they were staying at. They came up to our club after their show and Denny said he wanted to sit in with us. Went to hand him sticks and the set, he said no, I wanna play your trumpet. He picked Kansas City and we played it! Blew my mind!!!!

First rock and roll song I ever learned to play on the drums. I was playing big band, swing and jazz because my grandfather wanted me to be the next Gene Krupa or Buddy Rich. I wanted to be the next Denny Carmassi, Don Brewer, John Bonham and Ginger Baker!! And even with arthritis in my wrists and neck I can still play this all the way through. Thanks Sammy, Ronnie, Denny and Bill Electric Church for such great memories!

I first saw Montrose in 73 during their first album tour. They were the second act of a three-act show with Dave Mason as the headliner, and it was done at the Santa Monica Civic auditorium in Los Angeles. The opening act was a british band called toe fat. When Montrose came out they blew everybody away, but Mason still schooled and ruled. He is another very underrated guitar player and even more underrated singer-songwriter. I have been a rock fan since I can remember starting at age 9 and my first album was rubber sole, second was the first Black Sabbath album and believe it or not sweet baby James by James Taylor. From then it just went on to cream Hendricks and got heavier with every purchase. I love them all and I'm so glad that they are not lost to time
