@SilasSmith1 Well, mf and forte are not painful for me. Not yet. In any case, a lovely version (specially attending at her age), but far from her best. Is curious that Caballé is trying to get a faster tempo instead of trying to get just the opposite, as she uses to do.

I rarely make a comment, and would not dream of criticizing anything Montserrat does. Someone mentioned that the tempo is faster on this rendition, and it is. It’s much faster. I discovered Monsarrat Caballe quite by accident, scrolling through KZbin one evening. I saw this woman coming out on stage, and figured I’d see what she had to sing. Well, I was in tears almost immediately, and have been a devoted fan ever since. She gives new meaning to exquisite, the whole package. The concert I was listening to was being sung in Munich in 1990. It was a joint concert with Marilyn Horn. The concert is broken into two parts, and quite incredible all the way through. This time she is singing with such sensitivity and a slower pace. Check it out, you will not be sorry!
