This is before her brain tumor of the pituitary gland....how that affected her life and function before being discovered and after we can only speculate. The gland didn't function well for years causing her weight issues. She also suffered chronic bronchitis...I say WOW what a presence singing so beautifully with all her many health challenges.

She didn’t a pronounce a lot of words in her career and we forgave her for it 😂

@@matthewbrown17 the problem isn't she does not pronounce, the problems are the voice lacks "core" for this repertoire and her high notes in forte are ugly, strident and clear in color

@@evangeliadimitriadis5706 Lol! You’re probably the first person I’ve ever heard say that Caballé didn’t have core. That’s preposterous. She had plenty of core and I don’t know what you find shrill about her voice. Caballé had plenty of faults, like all singers, including the best ones, such as herself. Plus, she had problems with her teeth which didn’t help her pronunciation.

Riporto la definizione di "coloratura" del dizionario Treccani: "Nell’uso moderno (ristretto però nei limiti della terminologia germanica e germanizzante), la variazione ornamentale quale fu praticata, spesso per improvvisazione del cantante, nel cosiddetto bel canto, o canto fiorito, dai musici dei sec. 17°-18°, per esibizione di virtuosismi canori a base di rapidi vocalizzi, gorgheggi, trilli, picchettati e simili." Sottolineo: "Nel cosiddetto bel canto o canto fiorito". Quando la Forza è stata data la prima volta, nel 1862, il bel canto viveva solo nelle opere di Donizetti e di Bellini che si continuavano a rappresentare un po' ovunque. A meno, ovviamente, che un'aria del genere non la canti la Caballé, che riuscirebbe a trasformare in belcanto pure Luigi Nono...
