Extraordinaria Caballé, en plena forma vocal y realmente inspirada, Cillario sabía llevarla muy bien. Yo estuve en ese concierto (tenía 15 años), acompañé a mi padre y, si no recuerdo mal, hubo una segunda parte donde el coro de RTVE también participó, en árias como la Vergine degli angeli de La Forza del Destino. Alguien tendrá la grabación? fue un concierto histórico.

How I wish Montserrat Caballe had more concert engagements in USA. Just at the rise of her Carnegie launch to fame, the rise of opera (and ballet) exploded into history like none known. She and her husband sang through the USA in America's timid discovery of what Europe was bringing to us, especially unknowns of Spain and more notably Catalonia. Who knew houses would become packed full into an Age of Golden. Caballe was certainly contracted everywhere. I regret she was not in the USA through the 1970s more and with concert, too. No doubt, she needed to address medical and more importantly her family. She is so very missed. Thank you.

How I wish she would have kept her voice this way. Fully engages, keeping the scuro in the sound. Later she pulled of the scuro and full engagement of sound. This is fantastic although she had even more in there which we hear in the Norma with Vickers; In mia man.

That performance in 1974 in Orange is an absolute must, especially the fantastic duet you mention. She brought the drama and passion full force. RIP John Vickers summer 2015.

Tremendous, almost supernatural control and, seemingly, so effortless. Early Caballé at her finest. Eventually she became a parody of herself but that's another story.

La dicción de Caballé de joven era bastante buena, salvo cuando empezaba a escuchar la belleza de su voz y se olvidaba de articular. Por lo demás, Don Carlo me gusta más, en Otello me aburre un poco tanta belleza vocal autocomplaciente. Es perfecta vocalmente, y la voz maravillosa, pero un poco más de sufrimiento, que te van a estrangular en un ratín...

Son convenciones del oficio.como.comentaba una persona que no habíe escuchado Opera y preguntó a otro y este le contestó : la Opera es aquella representación en la que a un individuo le acaban de dar 7 puñaladas y canta con potencia sin igual.
