Montserrat Caballé playfully sings Alzira's coloratura

Extremely nice to be reminded of how truly beautiful Alzira is. Each Verdi opera is so unique. Something "innocent and sweet" in Alzira. I love this opera. And Caballe was an incredibly sensitive artist. No words to describe her stunning artistry.

A good reminder of why i was attracted to Caballe's voice first, before liking other sopranos (includes Callas and Sutherland). Caballe sorta opened the doors (enterance) to the opera world.

Most of the time I don't like Caballe, but this is undeniably pure talent and absolutely golden staccati. Also, have you seen that perfomance where Montserrat tried to sing Barcarolle with Marylin Horne when they were both drunk? Absolutely ridiculous, but still funny :D

Lohengrin O thank you. 😊. Very nice. I also love her Norma (the one outdoors - l’orange?.but I may have the name incorrect). I apologize for making a over generalization. There are many fine caballe recordings.
